Default 25NL AJs OOP vs reg in single raised pot

Villain is a fairly standard reg. Positionally aware which makes his stealing range very wide and who folds to 3bets a lot.

    Full Tilt - $0.25 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    UTG: $50.39
    CO: $25.92
    BTN: $28.84
    Hero (SB): $28.16
    BB: $27.69

Hero posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

    Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero has J A

fold, CO raises to $0.75, fold, Hero calls $0.65, fold

I elected to just call preflop because I think that AJs plays well even OOP vs a range as wide as Villains. Also, I don't think that be folds all worse Ax hands if I 3bet and I think I can expect to outplay him a lot post flop especially when I strengthen my calling range.

    Flop: ($1.75, 2 players) 2 9 J
Hero checks, CO bets $1.00, Hero raises to $3.75, CO calls $2.75

I had been reasonably active at the table and I figured that this was a pretty good spot to c/r given that he has a lot of worse Jx hands that are never folding and I may be able to get him to stack off with a heart draw. (given game flow etc. I am fairly comfortable getting AJ in here because it is near the top of my range and I don't think he expects it to be there that often.)

    Turn: ($9.25, 2 players) 3
Hero bets $5.00, CO calls $5.00

His range after calling the flop I believe is probably some flush draws (maybe the smaller ones that were scared to stack off on the flop?) sets, Jx, 99, TT, QQ, KK, AA as well as QT. I think his range is wide enough to make a value bet as long as I keep it sort of on the small side so the majority of his flush draws call. I think it might be a bit too small (6 might have been better) but I am confident he's not folding many jacks here.

    River: ($19.25, 2 players) A

This is a weird card. I now have top 2 and all of his flushes have gotten there. It's tempting to jam this card because it's like the best possible barreling card ever and look for a hero call from QQ, KK, KJ, QJ hoping to own me. I also think he could have played J9 passively which then gives me a better two pair. The plan was probably to check/call any non heart river but this card is just so meh.

I mean I guess I could c/f expecting him to never bet worse as well since jamming may very well be too thin.

i agree with m2m, jam, hes gonna call any Ax, any PP, any Jx and sometimes with flush, but i think its a +EV jam.

Interesting analysis of the hand btw, thx for all the info - makes it easier to learn how you guys think when playing.

yeah, I think he folds his gutshots on the flop usually,, so his range is FDs, OESDs and lots of ways he can have a pair, so letting him bluffcatch on our nut barrel card looks good.
