Default some poker bill passed committee stage

seems like good news for poker players?

loads of links/info around the place - google HR2267
HR 2267 Passed by House Financial Services Committee | BLUFF Poker News
    ptr
    etc.

also, looks like my conspiracy theory around party poker's rationale in paying a big chunk of $$ to the US govt (?irs?justice?) a while back is finally coming true.

Those that "broke the law" will be banned from re-entering the United States market. This is the reason PartyPoker got the fuck out so quickly back when UIGEA was passed.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

Should we withdraw our monies from Mr. PokerStars or do you think it will be relatively safe still?

Def a good step in the right direction.

Looks to suck for stars/ftp etc, though they've maintained that they aren't breaking any laws. I guess they'll get a chance to argue that point eventually (assuming this becomes law).

I saw a couple other interesting amendments like people behind on child support won't be able to pay.

It'll be forever before it becomes (if it does) a law.

Party's RB/points system sucks big balls too. Getting Americans back to playing casually wouldn't hurt though

Wow, this looks like it could be huge. How long (ballpark is fine) before it could become a law? Like whats the process from here?

    I'll miss Pokerstars.
