well, originally it was supposed to be a sequel to relapse, and was to be released just a few months after relapse. But as he worked on it, it changed a ton, and he decided it stood on its own. So thats probably where the double disc rumors come from.

As far as the album... idk.. I think its pretty bad. I really dont like lil wayne, but strangely no love is prob my favorite track on the album.. such a dope sample. Eminem doubles up like all of his lyrics now though, and it sounds so forced. No Love is like eminem's renegade.. em's crushed jay z on jay's song, and now lil wayne crushed eminem on his own song.

p.s. just re listened to so bad, this track is fucking dope.

p.p.s. didnt listen to the untitled track the first time around... this shit is dope, but mostly cuz of the dope sample. But then again the original song is much better: YouTube - Leslie Gore- "You Don't Own Me" Live

    Wow this album is terrible

I may as well elaborate. The beats are actually decent and the rapping is actually decent. They just don't go together well, eminem doesn't do well on overwhelming west coast beats at all.

On the strength of this post I listened to both No Love and So Bad, I thought they were dull. I then listened to Renegade cos I haven't played it in a while, and that shit just don't compare. It's amazing that both of those tracks involved the same person.

i like the ones u listed, but its just that they dont really compare to other stuff hes done and ill likely be bored of these songs within a few weeks, meanwhile ive still got some of his older stuff on my current favorite playlists.

I was not directly comparing no love to renegade, I was just comparing that it was a duo and the featured artist outshined the guy on his own song. Furthermore I think lil wayne is an overhyped troll who cant rap. He has a few decent mainstream songs, but he puts out soooo much horribad stuff. And this just highlights my point that eminem has fallen off hard, being outclassed by lil fucking wayne on his own track.

ya.. but its not only that the beats and his style dont match up, but also that hes just fallen off. Listen to Forgot About Dre, then listen to anything from relapse or recovery. It seriously makes me sad to do this. Listen to his flow from before... now his flow is either overly angry/yelling or that silly baby voice. Oh and dont forget the forced double time that he uses in every fucking line. Eminems flow has fallen off harder than busta rhymes'.

i think its a class album

    1. you really think wayne had a better verse then em? really?

    2. your talking about an artists voice & lyrics, you have those confused with flow. and if anything ems flow was ridiculous on this album, ill give you the fact that the content may or may not have been there but the flow is undeniable. rode every beat

Im not confusing anything. His flow was bad. His delivery is bad. I mean, you seriously think him singing the chorus on cold wind blows is good? Maybe "bad" is harsh.. but when we look back at his catalog, its just hard to listen to enjoy the quality of this album.

Idk, Im giving the album another listen now.. talkin' 2 myself is pretty good I guess. Still though, almost all these songs are just good beats and eminem talking about nonsense.. Look back at almost all of his songs pre-encore. They were either really well put together stories that painted a picture, or they were heavily themed. This whole album is just a collection of mediocre songs that never really seem to have solid direction.

Is the album better than his last couple? For sure. Is it anywhere near his early albums? Absolutely not.

MMLP/TES were slightly better I can agree with you on that. I guess well see how this album stands the test of time. Let me know how you feel after a couple more listens

Favorite song is 'Love the Way you Lie'...but its because Rihanna gives me hard ons...eminem is aight in it.

After listening a few more times...its definitely alot better than the last one, but +1 to boost in that the songs dont really go together as well in terms of story telling like other cds did. idk...maybe its something that grows on you..but im still hating for the most part

how is he supposed to be good anymore when he's made billions of dollars? he was pretty fucking mad in almost all of his songs early on, wtf does he have to be mad about? even if he wasn't "mad" in his songs, he was still trying to prove himself...

it's still good stuff, but it'll never ever ever EVER touch his early shit---motherfucker had something to prove back then!

ya.. eminem as the underdog oddball in the industry put together some solid albums. But now hes rapping about being the top dog and all this shit and its just like "meh.."

Does he still try and rap in that retarded middle eastern/borat voice that he started in "ass like that" (think that was the first time he started). Bring back marshall mathers LP and Encore type stuff =/

I haven't really listened to many songs off the CD yet, but my fav so far is Not Afraid and its not close.
