Default AJ OOP on AQx flop

Another hand I wasn't sure about, but played as best I thought. Villains stats are 22/16, so his 3bet with position on me leads me to believe he raising a small range like JJ+ or AQo+. My bet on the flop was to induce a raise to see if my J kicker was good, but since he just called i checked the rest of the way for a cheap showdown.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB ($1.01)
    BB ($2.11)
    Hero (UTG) ($2.95)
    MP ($5.14)
    CO ($3.05)
    Button ($1.94)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, J
Hero bets $0.08, MP raises to $0.24, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.16

    Flop: ($0.51) 4, Q, A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.30, MP calls $0.30

    Turn: ($1.11) 2 (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP checks

    River: ($1.11) 6 (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP checks

    Total pot: $1.11 | Rake: $0.07

    Results:
Hero had A, J (one pair, Aces).
MP had K, K (one pair, Kings).
    Outcome: Hero won $1.04

open fold flop. If you are accurate with his range he has you totally buggard

dont like your flop line but the river is obviously a valuebet, he turned his hand strength face-up on by checking back the turn

Yea i didn't even think about that when i read the op my only thoughts were why is he betting in to range that crushes him

oh and i meant check fold in my first post. Since we saw the flop which was a mistake imo. I would check then bet the turn and river if he checks behind on the flop. I think a flop check by villain polarizes his range to one that we beat.

    Don't post results.

If you think his range for 3 betting you in this spot is AQ+,JJ+ why are you calling pre flop???????

River value bet of around 1/2 pot seems good.

    IMO fold AQ+AJ pre

as played bet the river for value all day long... he tells you on the turn he either has a weak A or shitty PP or missed FD

So general consensus is value bet river as played, should have checked the flop, but shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place.

Well the first raise was good.

well, preflop fold is questionable i think. I mean AJo does not flop very well usually and is way behind his 3betting range I'm sure. AJs atleast gives you more chances at making a hand. But I'd say more times then not it's probably a better fold then call to a 3bet from someone who is playing pretty tight

I don't really think stacks are deep enough to flush hunt. Personally unless it was some kinda retarded min 3-bet and i was getting like 60-1 i would never call a 3-bet with Aj off .

right.. that's why i said more times then not it's a fold

Fold to the 3bet. Villain is a reg that 3bet your UTG. There isn't a reasonable flop you will be happy to continue on. IMO the open is fine. AJ is one of the most costly hands to use vs a regs value 3bet range!!!(which a 3bet to your utg usually is). As played, I'd valuebet the river for about 2/3rds.
