New to this forum- Goals and challenges

First of all let me introduce myself, my name is John I live in baltimore md and frequent de park for live play. Online I play at FTP and Stars. I've been playing for about 2 to 3 years pretty consistently with mixed results the latter part being more positive then negative. However I have a long way to go in terms of discipline, tilting and getting bored at the table and making random plays. So I decided to join this forum as a fresh start and to become a grinding player.

I work like most people 8- 10 hours 5 days a week. I don't make that much however I make enough to grind micros online and take occasional trips to the casino and play some 1/2.

My goals are to play close to 7000 hands a week, starting at NL2 or CAP NL5 and work my way up the ranks.

I am decent at cash games however my tournament play could use a lot of work. I'm looking for a forum that isn't about bashing people and is actually about helping fellow grinders get better, as well as helping them through the bad times and enjoying the good times with each other.

In my start over I'm going to use two new rooms.

Crazy name but what else can you come up with at 4 am after a 24 hour live session lol.

My posts will most likely not be this long this is just my intro. But I look forward to my new challenges.

I will post updates on here once a week with info on how I feel I'm playing as well as stats of my play and so on.

So good luck at the tables and I look forward to interacting on here discussing the many variables this great game has to offer.

I agree about only focusing on 1 or the other..........I play cash b/c its what I enjoy. If I want a "tournament fix", my wife occasionally plays super-micro SNG's, earns T$$ from those, and plays MTTs once in a great while, so I sweat her in those. I'm not that good at them, so they're not my focus.

I write right-handed, and as far as I can remember, we practiced our elementary penmanship in one hand or the other, we didn't try to write ambidextrously just to say that we could. The Lesson?? Focus on what you do best and do lots of that.
