Default 2/4 - couple tpgk in 3bet pots.. could be boring/standard

    Hand 1
-villain in this hand is fast eddie, reg on stars, calls lots of 3bets, peels lots of flops etc
-early in session, so no dynamic this sesh yet, but prob views me as 3betting around 8ish from blids
-I tanked 3 seconds on bet and he minraised pretty fast ~seconds

    Stacks:
    UTG ($441.50)
    CO ($418)
    BTN ($1,019.10)
    SB ($792.75)
    Hero (BB) ($406)

    Pre-Flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is BB
2 folds, BTN raises to $12, 1 fold, Hero raises to $44, BTN calls $32

    Flop: ($90, 2 players)
Hero bets $65, BTN raises to $130, Hero??

    Hand 2
-villain in this hand is somewhat laggy, 25/22 type with a reasonably high AF and was opening a LOTT, esp since it went 5-handed
-I haven't played with villain in a long while and this was my second 3bet against him this session
-jam all-in on this board confuses me, when the board is so dry and there are no FD's
-he tanked 4-5 seconds and raised to $520 (essentially a jam, but didn't actually jam - not sure if thats relevant)

    Pre-Flop: ($9, 5 players) Hero is BTN
UTG raises to $21, 1 fold, Hero raises to $60, 2 folds, UTG calls $39

    Flop: ($129, 2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $65, UTG raises to $520

i think checking flop in hand 1 is just as good as betting, and id fold to the raise, calling is fine too of course

hand 2 i just call but ur 3bet pre is garbage, u cant just cbet fold this spot though thats even worse, goodjob though he owned u

Nothing to add on top of sauce, the 3bet in hand 2 I really dislike.

haha ok before this thread becomes about pre in hand 2, I actually had 35ss (which you may like more or even less).

But I'm just trying to figure out a calling range here, because I don't know what I would do with a hand like AJ in this spot, since I can't put him on many worse hands that would outright jam on such a dry board.

    1) He expects you do to something spewy so fold I'd say.

    2) I agree that your 3 bet is pretty bad I have no idea what to do now but you should never be in this spot anyway. Ok just read your response I wouldn't 3 bet 35s either I'd rather just flat.

No I meant I'd rather flat 35s then 3 bet. I fold 100% vs anybody who I think is competent at all.

opposite for me, seems like such a shitty hand without the initiative.. but yeah id fold 98%.
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Yah I agree with this. I also fold this prob around 95%, but definitely 3bet it if I'm choosing to play it. It's not the greatest hand to play without initiative, even IP, not to mention the times we get squeezed off it if we flat.

I think people flat too many low SC's and one gappers on the button to raises in the first place. Only seems profitable if villain plays pretty straightforward.

In hand one would it be better to Ck and let this type of Vil possibly fire off this flop? Call and re eval Turn? How much of his range do you think hes C betting here?

C/r seems way too thin in hand 1. For c/r to be good he'd have to be value getting it in with A10 or Jx and bare clubs. Plus c/r with initiative sucks here because the majority of his range is gonna check back the flop or just easily b/f.

haha wow Griffey always these gross spots. Hand 1 is so fkn close. I think I fold but i'm pretty close to shoving and then switching to another table until i see where money gets shippes. Hand 2 (aj) i obv agree with bad 3-bet pre but as played I think it's a clear fold - maybe i'm a nit but like wtf is he doing this with that we beat? ur just getting lvl'd here too often by AQ/AK and sets.

Haha I do this too, until after some seconds I want resist the chicken feeling and get back to the table thinking it is part of playing poker, but I'm still not always doing it . I have this with bluffs moreso than valueshoves though.

This was my thinking too, that minraises are pretty FoS, so I ended up just jamming not wanting to let some bs bluff with a hand like 9dTc get there or something.

But I think what is really important, that I missed at the time, is that people rarely have any non-suited hands in 3bet pots. So it's not like he ever shows up with the "bs hand" like 9dTc I mentioned above, so jamming is really bad. The only unsuited hand I can imagine here is a hand like AxQc, which has me dead anyhow. KcQx is also possible, but also has tons of equity.

So I definitely now think fold > call >>> shove.
