    Default A couple hands

Hand #1: Villain is 18/6/1.2 over 90 hands. He has been very passive. This is a set all day right? Is there a better line to take or is this a standard waste of time hand to post? The reason I bet turn is because I picked up a lot of equity and am basically never folding now.. better to be the aggressor right?

Hand #2: Villain has played few hands but from the way he wears his hat, appears to be a shortstacking super donkey.

My question is combating shortstackers. Generally, do we cbet them? If we get shoved on after a cbet we are almost always getting the right price. Or do we just wait to hit before doing anything? This seems very exploitable. I am just confused on how anyone makes money short stacking.. he has no implied odds so can't really call with much preflop, and being a 1 more wonder preflop doesn't get value out of bigger hands.

Should I be raising more preflop? Should I cbet smaller if at all?

I've seen plenty of short stacking guides. Anyone know of a guide on how to play against them?

Usual disclaimer: I'm a busto microdonk, take or leave the below analysis, I'm doing it as much for my benefit as yours, etc. etc.

    Hand 1.

Preflop: Villain's on the button, so he might be flatting you with a slightly wider range than normal. Let's say something like: {AJs+, AQo+, KQs, 54s-QJs, 22+} I'm leaving premiums in his range as I don't think we can be sure he won't flat with them.

Flop: How often is he folding to c-bets? This isn't a flop that I feel hits your range very hard, so he might be suspicious and call for one street here with most (all?) of his range, especially if you've been c-betting a lot.

Turn: You hit your card and bet again, there's also now a diamond draw. Here I think he's continuing with {AJs, AdQd+, KdQd, 54s, T9s-QJs, 6d5d-9d8d, 22, 33, 88+} Against which pokerstove tells me you have exactly 50% equity, but I'm not sure how often he's calling with the flushdraw here, so this might be marginal. That said I don't see how you can ever not bet here when you hit your card.

River: I don't really like the bet on the river. Calling you is only something like: {AJs, 54s, JTs-QJs, 22, 33, 88+), against which you've only got 36% equity so it's not a good value bet, and I can't think of any better hands that you're getting to fold here so it's not a good bluff, either. When he raises you I think it's either the straight, a set or I guess occasionally a very strangely played overpair- in any event nothing you beat, so an easy fold.

I think a ton of worse hands call me on the river here. I fully expected him to call with something like 44, 55, 66, 77, 99, 1010, A8.

Both cbets are debatable and the one in hand 2 is probably -EV

hand 1 turn/river are fine but I'd go slightly bigger on both streets

hand 2 turn is about all you can do when you turn a gutterball

I think cbet in hand 1 is fine. Hand 2, I think there are some concerns; however, I hate all the other options, so b/f is what I would normally do.

Same standard. Bigger is better here. Villain is bad, and calling with plenty worse on both street to bigger bets.

    yeah pretty much.
