Default I hate getting c/r in these spots.

The b/c is a complete baron land full of trolls and void of poker discussion imo for the most part. Maybe we can get some actual discussion in about this hand and the other one I posted and the micro guys that hang out in the IRC can post some hands too.

C'mon lets ressurect this place. If we can droan out the shitheads with some poker content, I'll even come back here and offer wisdom if I ever make it to 50 Ennels!

Anyways, Villain is 18/16 TAG looking over 30 hands. I think range is probably something like [AJ, JJ, 66 22 flush draws and air] I'd expect him to flat here with 77-TT or weaker jacks. Since he's repping pretty small for value and looks somewhat reggish, I elect to call flop and re-eval turn. I've found i common for tagfish to give up on a flop c.r bluff quite often here on the turn if they have no equity.

I see no reason to bet the turn as he only folds hands I beat anyways and I can't see anything I get value from.

River bet is giving me good odds, but I just don't see how there can be many bluffs in his range if any. Looks more like AJ or a set that checked the turn mindlessly in fear of the flush card. Also, he can have made the nuts on the turn and be bad enough to check it to me. Like it's just such a rediculous spot to bluff again (if he c/r bluffed the flop - which I actually don't think is too likely since I opnened utg) since he has no reason to believe I fold a hand like the one I have or better.

Am I better just folding flop here?

    Thoughts?

Check the flop man whats he gonna call you with JT/QJ? nah he folds that to your UTG raise. He has set or AcKc..... just fold the flop.

Can't really see many draws he can have and putting him solely on sets is just too thin in most cases. Besides folding preflop, I think I play it the same but a river bet is just weird. Not too many hands on him so I guess I talk myself into a fold.

I agree with folding preflop. Ive been trying to open up my ranges to play more pots with fish, but I think I should be doing that more in later position and not to this extent utg even though the blinds were pretty tight.

Right, I completely agree. I mean if a fish or two were in the blinds and everyone else was tight then I think we should raise this UTG. But we just get caught in so many OOP situations.

i can understand call/reval flop if you opened from CO or BU, but wtfImustBaCompleteNitIfFlopIsAcall given the fact that you raised from UTG

fold river. what do you beat with his river bet? clubs get there aj beats you and sets check the turn. all you beat are bluffs and qj.

if villain is a tag he has set or nfd a lot here
if he's a good tag he sometimes has some random crap here sometimes as well

but calling is not standard, only do it if someone's getting out of hand
AJ is a closer decision since NFD has less equity vs. AJ and some people c/r AJ for value if they expect you to call a c/r with top pair (which is another reason calling with KJ is not great)

pre usually you should open KQo but not KJo
