Default 200NL FR Gametime with Drew

This is going to be a fun little experiment. Tomorrow I will post the turn action, and Friday I will post the river. I want you to put both Hero and Villain on a range with each street.

After 3.7k hands, Villain is running at 21.5% VPIP, 15.5% PFR, and 3.5% 3bet.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (8 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (UTG+1) ($251.90)
    MP1 ($203.15)
    MP2 ($200)
    CO ($322.80)
    Button ($117.80)
    SB ($87.60)
    BB ($200)
    UTG ($205)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with XX
    1 fold, Hero bets $8, 2 folds, CO calls $8, 3 folds

    Flop: ($19) 10, 6, K (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $16, Hero raises $40, CO calls $24

And don't say hero has XX

i'm gonna go with broadway dd hands, TT+ AK, KQ for hero, discounting JJ-QQ a little bit. could also have some stone bluffs like 88 but seems kinda dumb given villain can continue with a ton of stuff.

I'd say villain has mostly 1pair hands Tx or better and some weaker draws, since i assume he'd 3bet with sets or 8d7d or similar.

Hero's line looks like bullshit to me. Fail that he's taking advantage of CO's floating tendencies to build a bigger pot with initiative. I think we can rule out the hands he's going to try to pot control with and tend to put his range at strong K+ hands and strong draws. You can further narrow it down by the range of hands he'd open with UTG.

    Made hands: AA/KK/AK/TT
    Draws AdJ+d/QJs
Some % bullshit including turning QQ/JJ into a bluff (on a really bad board to do it on.)

CO must have a hand to call here and is almost never bluffing without some sick history.
How wide is he flatting here pre-flop?

    Cold call %.

Probably just need to make a guess based on how the game plays.

i'm not 100% but i thiiiink KQs is in there, maybe discount it some % preflop

If CO plays well, he's flatting because he's got the draws and bluffs crushed with not as much value against a sane all-in range.

no i meant kq is in drew's range, just not sure if he raises it pre or not, or how often

Wow I am really struggling to put hero on a range. C/r as the pfr is something you very seldom see at FR. I guess akdd, aqdd, ajdd are all possible, jqdd is unlikely. I think for value all sets are possible and maybe aa/ak without the fd getting fps.

As for villain, once he calls the raise he can have a load of weak draws and also AT/KJ+/JJ/QQ for made hands

Basically this, it's a play designed to induce a float from CO, then get him off of his air.

basically you should do this with sets, huge draws, and air (AQ and AJ air not 77 air). With AA and AK this is pretty dumb
  13. #13
Air is air. Sometimes you just need to send a little message to guys who flat you that they can't bet with impunity when you check the flop to them...

That said, if you have a tight UTG range, he really shouldn't be looking to float you light...

    snap fold btw

JJ/QQ is also possible I guess. It's weird since this is actually a bad card for hero's range (if you're not raising SCs UTG+1 which I assume to be true of most regs). I guess it's quite tough for hero to have air here now though (like dean said I think c/ring AJ/AQ is far preferable to c/r an underpair). Odd spot...
