    Default 10 NL hand

villain was 39/10/4.7 0%3bet% 100%cbet over 64 hands and had been talking poker books etc with SB all through the session in the chat box. I was 29/19/2.4 3.5%3bet with 41%ATS.

    $0.05/$0.1 No Limit Holdem
    5 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG idir57 ($9.90)
    CO Hero ($25.10)
    BTN NoFame09 ($14.45)
    SB Zijl ($17.50)
    BB frenki72 ($7.05)

    Pre-flop: ($0.15, 5 players) Hero is CO
idir57 raises to $0.30, idir57 says "but doyle wrote the no limit chapter", Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, idir57 says "it's classic", idir57 calls $0.70

    Flop: ($2.15, 2 players)
idir57 checks, Zijl says "im reading professional no limit holdem now", idir57 says "who wrote it?", Hero bets $1.60, idir57 raises to $4.40, Zijl says "matt flynn, sunny mehta & ed miller", idir57 says "ed miller is a reference", Hero ???,
idir57 says "come on fold ur AK"

His line didn't seem to say I was good. I just felt that I was up against QQ+ or more likely a set. Normally he'd been cbetting so the check raise was a change to his line.

Stop chatting about poker material (books, forums, improving) at the tables.

As played, what are you trying to accomplish with your flop bet? Is he calling with worse? Folding better?

His "fold to 3bet" stat would be relevant here.

He cannot cbet when you 3bet pre.

This is not a good board to cbet. FWIW, generally speaking, pocket pairs are a significant portion of most players preflop/3bet calling range.

villain and SB were doing the chatting , I didnt take part except that villain was unaware of the authors of various books which tended to imply that he hadn't done much reading .
The flop bet was essentially trying to take it down there, price out any flush draws and straight draws.I took his check raise to signal a lot of strength either a big pocket pair or a set .I folded as I thought I may well be drawing to a losing hand.

Using poker stove, his opening range is roughly {77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo}. After you 3 bet and he calls I have his range looking like this {77+,ATs+,AQo+,KQs}.
Basically your behind on the flop having 37% equity, I think its a fold unless you want to turn your hand into a semi bluff by calling flop and shoving a diamond turn.
