Poker Player, Know Thy Self!
If you want to get better at Poker you have to "Know Yourself". The 1st question you need to ask yourself is, "What are my strengths".
So many times in Poker, like life, your strengths can be your weaknesses. My competitive nature and desire to win make me overly aggressive at times. I also need to improve my ability to “Read” my competition's hands. I am also working maintaining “focus” while playing multiple tables, middle of tournament play and being more patient.
The 2nd question to ask is what is the strongest part of your poker game?
I have a number of strengths. My analytical skills are very good. I can assess card hands and pot odds quickly and accurately. The same goes for assessing a table and my competition's strengths and weaknesses. In many situations my desire and competitive nature are also strengths. Finally, my resolve, commitment and ability to create and execute a “Game Plan” and do “Whatever it takes” to succeed support my Poker skills.
With these two simple questions and honest answers you can take your Poker Game to a new level.
