Range adjustments

I usually play 6 max, just wondering when the table drops for 6 to say 3 players what adjustments are made to your range.

Do widen your range 10%,15%,20%,etc.. do you defend more than usual, do you raise more than usual, do you 3 bet more often, do call more hands

Well, 3 players is almost heads up. In fact, in many hands, you are going to be heads up (if you even get to the flop). You can't wait around for good cards, too, because you'll get swallowed paying blinds. So the general philosophy would be to play hands that play well heads up, like Ax, and back off of hands that need multiway pots, like suited connectors. Further, blind stealing and protecting, c-betting, bluffing, general aggressive play, and reading are so much more important in this situation (of course, these tactics are already very important in a lot of 6-max games).

I tend only to run into 3 player tables when I play a tournament, but certainly when I get to that point I am basically in "heads up" mode unless I am playing 2 calling stations.

Our button range should probably already be wide enough that we don't need to change that 3-way. Similarly, I'm playing my blinds 3-way basically the same way I would against a button open on a 6-max table. Defend if my hand has good equity against his range and plays decently postflop, 3-bet bluff if he opens wide enough, 3-bet for value with an appropriate range.

I mean, there might be a few minor changes to make, but in general I think that our 3-handed play shouldn't be a whole lot different from our 6-max play after the first 3 players fold.

I leave the table when it drops to 3 players unless there is a HUGE fish at the current table.

Bluffing and c-betting are ineffective against players who don't fold. You have to just put them on a range and play hands with equity against that range.
