Default Holdem Manager deleting hand histories

I am trying out the trail version of Holdem Manager. Annoyingly it seems to have deleted all my hand histories. I know there was a garbled message at the installation saying that it would save space if it could do **something fancy**. I didn't realise that it would be deleting my hand histories to save space! I am reasonably competent with computers, but it didn't seem clear to me that this was going to happen. I don't suppose there is any way to rescue my hand histories now?

    Hey Naka,

first of all I gotta admit that I don't know Holdem Manager, but I had PokerTracker once. So here's what this kind of software usually does. After they've imported one of your history files they will move it out of your PokerStars HH folder into an own one (most likely in the Holdem Manager installation directory or like PokerTracker did it: create a folder inside your PokerStars HH folder to put them in there, like: "ok, I already imported that file")

The reason for this being: all of those applications usually check the HH directories for updates while you're playing. With only one active HH remaining, this increase performance by a ton!

    Hope that helps.

I'm going to check again tonight, although I couldn't find anything in the Hold 'em Manager folder. I hadn't thought about checking the PS HH folder. Thanks for the idea.

On another note I have no idea why Hold'em Man clearly gets the amount won wrong. I clearly have not won $20 000 but this is what HM says!

    Default Had same situation

I thought HM was deleting my hand histories as well until I figured out they were just being moved to a folder called C:\HMArchive.

I'm not 100% sure of the name but pretty sure. I do know that they were not in the HM install path or the PokerStars install path.

If all else fails, next time you play a tournament write down the tournament # and then do a search for files for *tournament#*.txt and you'll find them.

    Hope that helps.

If someone can explain what the hell the huge numbers are I'd appreciate it. I think the 20k it says you won is actually the amount of chips ( since it thinks it is a cash game? ). Is there a SnG/MTT format at all for profit/losses?

Sweet, I found them! It would be nice if HM actually mentioned this was happening, or put something in the help menu.

I think this is probably right. It seems very odd though.
