Default Another 2 pair hand, details matter

    $1/$2 No Limit Holdem
    6 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG louis984 ($142.00)
    UTG+1 INTREPID FOX ($100.10)
    CO dbalaban ($81.20)
    BTN sfr100nrv ($43.95)
    SB mufasa36 ($232.15)
    BB Hero ($197.50)

    Pre-flop: ($3, 6 players) Hero is BB
1 fold, INTREPID FOX calls $2, 3 folds, Hero checks

    Flop: ($5, 2 players)
Hero bets $4, INTREPID FOX raises to $18, Hero goes all-in

Opponent is a multi-tabling regular running 18/8 over a pretty good sample. He tries to play well, maybe even is a winner. Limps a fair amount and selectivly aggressive after the flop. Odd, interesting player with lots of opportunity for fun.

I'm guessing he's drawing here with something like AQs or 97s. The villain having 2-pair himself, or even a set here is not impossible, 'cuz people limp all sorts of trash at every level.

He almost never has Q8 or Q6 with an under 20% VP$IP. 66 and 88 are only delt one way. QQ is heavily discounted because he probably would have raised it. That leaves his range full of Queefs with a kicker, slow played AA/KK and a shit ton of draws.

Also, I don't think he raises me quite so hard if he thinks he's got me drawing thin against a set.

    Yep.

So is there any other way to play it than you have here?

...asuming he doesn't have more than 9 outs against my 4 to re-suck.

Calling makes life difficult because we don't know which draw he has, it would leave lots of money behind, a Queen kills our equity and he's not a betting station so there is a good chance he takes the free card after I call his slight flop over-bet.

We're pretty sure we're good and out of position with a lot of money behind. I like a re-raise a lot.

$40, the rest goes in on the turn. That hurts draws by confronting him with a juicy must-call followed by a must-fold (or bad call) if he misses.

$60ish hurts his odds on the flop even if I auto-push the turn but probably commits him to an even money turn call if he makes the badish flop call.

When you think about it, just taking down the pot against a draw isn't all that bad in the long-run even if not ideal.

Once I got that far, I just shoved knowing that I totally fucked any draw but might get a spite call anyway (didn't think he was good and he might not take a half stack as seriously.) Also it looks like I'm the one playing the draw so he might get heroic with a Queen.

Nice hand.. I think I would have put him with at least the Queen... still playing it the way I hope I'd have the courage to play it... but I seriously would have read him with something better, KQ or AQ I think... either way I have to have shoved it. Nice hand.

(Now remember, that is my theory, in practice I'd have probably called as I sometimes have a hard time making the mouse do what the mind commands)
