Default very strange hand with a set.

villain here is Schemeny, a 200nl reg. he runs about 14.5/12.5/4.5 over a good sample. i actually dont have any specific reads on him. original raiser is some fish that raises 7% of his hands. i cant really put schemeny on anything but a bluff or 22, all of which i beat. also i dont think he is slow playing two streets with a set. but like, it is such a freaking bad spot to bluff. he never has KK, and i think he wouldve c/r me on the flop with a FD. the only 6 in his range could be 66, and he easily folds this on flop or the turn.

my hand looks like a K, draw, or set. im never barreling here with A high, and i would imagine villain knows that at least. anyways, thoughts? can we ever muck?

Can he not have a weirdly played AK?

I'd fold, this just looks a ton like a flush.

wow this sucks so bad. I have played a little bit with Schemeny and unfortunately I have no reason to believe that he could be bluffing here. I agree with your assessment of how he probably views you so this is probably a fold, though I don't know if I manage to do it in the moment.

I fold here. Too many hands in his range are crushing us.

this is pretty much a snap fold vs any 1/2 player

He may have checked behind a FD to UTG cause of some read, in which case i think he'd play it exactly like he did.

This is just the type of spot where you kind of have to throw out advice Danny says about repping a very small range and think more about how many hands he's bluffing here, which is approximately none, and how many hands he's doing this for value that is worse than yours, which is also none.

well i dont think were going to get that much more out of talking about it more, so ill just give the results. from the consensus is that calling is bad here. well, i did call and he had TT (wtf). i guess you could say i just got lucky, but i seriously just couldnt put him on (and still cant) any kind of a hand that beat me, except the flush, and even then i doubt that, because i think he raises me almost every time on flop or gives up on it on the turn as played. i dont even know what he was thinking.

I think this is a flush soo soo often, expecting you to call with an ace for a straight.

He probably thinks we have AK so if this was any other heart than a 4h I'd be more inclined to call. He's gotta be nuts to try and get us off a straight here.

Thanks for posting this will, I can now throw away my fold button against him!

im fairly sure he knows i 3 bet AK 100% of the time, and wouldnt try to get tricky with it with a fish in the hand.

I knew results before i commented, so I still think its a fold and not really that close. I don't hate the guys bluff but its really retarded looking.

With all the people in this thread saying fold, it can't be bad. Admittedly it is very retarded, and I think he didn't have a plan for the hand and blindly c/c'd 2 streets, then saw an opportunity to bluff and took it.

He probably thought you'd read him for a flush or 66 or any hand with an ace in it, and made a spontaneous river bluff. It's also possible that he thought he might have you beat on the flop, realized he was probably mistaken on the turn - but by then he had a good chunk of "bluff outs" against your probable range. So he hung in planning to do what he did. Either way, it doesn't put together a very good story to sell you, since you know he's a decent player.

This is a funny thing to say - DUCY?

Sometimes I think the optimal play for half of post-flop situations is to play EXACTLY like a g d retard.

yeah i know, and i would fold this almost every time, but i read his soul, lol. i think this is a spot where i get myself into a lot of trouble, because too often i think, hmm nothing here makes sense, because doing x would be really terrible, but the problem is people make really bad calls with draws all the time.

Even if he was drawing to a flush here his calls aren't exactly terrible if he thinks he can stack you when he hits (with good reason apparently ). But it would also make sense for him to have a combo draw (say 56h or A2h), even though I realize it's standard for people to now play those like the house is on fire and they only have five seconds to get all the money in before their computer melts.
