Default TPNK out of the blinds/button

When you have a marginal PF hand, such as Q8o, K7s, etc, and you flop TP, what is your general strategy in position, out of position, multiway, HU, deepstacked, etc?

Basically I like to check these hands 90% of the time, just so we don't get owned by a higher kicker, and we gain value from weaker pairs on subsequent streets. I feel like I'd be more likely to bet my pair in position HU, preferably not deepstacked. Against shorties I like getting it in, though.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

Personally I'll usually bet it 1/2 pot or so or full pot if just me and 1 other. The only downside to checking for me is I'm tempted to call if they bet. Then I'm just slipping down a bad slope. And ya against shorties I'll sometimes c/r them all in.
