my brother emailed me with this today. it is an old email from me to him that he saved so he could make fun of me some day. i just thought it was funny and wanted everybody to see that we all have to come from somewhere when we are new to the game.

this was dated Dec. 1, 2005. i had been playing for real money for about 3 weeks, and already thought i was a TAG. however, the games back then were much easier to play crappy poker and still win at a great clip.

and the straight flush i was referring to would have been flopped to my 79s...something no where near my range early on (clearly no understanding of a 5 way 3X raised pot and implied odds). but, as violently as the pot was contested, i would have won $50. i still remember the hand. how funny is that? remembering a hand you were never involved with.

at this point my bankroll was about $100, didnt have PT, and i was working off a bonus...lol.

dude,

i killed it again last night... think i need to tighten up during day...but at night its easy to find loose passive tables, and easier to find the tight aggressives...they stick out like a highlighter.

anyway, i got a quick question...do you measure winnings the same at NL? in BB/100? i dont know how to figure how bad, if at all, im beating a game. other than if i make money per session.

and you must call me while i remember the straight flush i folded pre-flop to a small raise. wouldve made at least $50 on that hand, on a .05/.10 NL table...thats a monster hand against those blinds! but oh well, at least i can talk about the one that got away now.
