    Default Movin Up

Been playing poker since April now. I've been grinding my way with winnings from a freeroll playing the 2.20 beginner tournament sit n gos on bodog--I'm starting from scratch with freeroll money, at about $70.00 now. My question is, when should I move up to a higher buy-in? Money-wise, I know I should follow the five percent rule. However, I'm asking when along the lines of ability. Right now, I'm averaging in third place in the 2.20 sngs (they pay out five places). I don't place at all about every 9-10 SNGs. Skill-wise, if I'm still at this stage when my bankroll allows me to move up into higher buyins, am I ready? Or should I wait until my "stats" are better? I'm just not sure if I should wait until I'm "dominating" the 2.20s to move up, or even what dominating would entail. Thoughts?

what kind of a sample is this? That could be the deciding factor really. Whats the next highest buyin on bodog? $5.50's? If so, you need to wait until you have atleast over $100 in your BR, if not more.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

The next highest buy-in is the 4.40s. Its also the beginners ( pays out 5 places). I'm not sure what you mean by sample--how many in total? If so, I'm not sure. Somewhere around 75 if I had to guess, a victim of the bubble about every one in ten times.

ETA: Here's the information from the last 14 sngs I've played. Do what you will with it:

    1. 3rd- $4
    2. 3rd-$4
    3. 2nd- $5
    4. 5th- $2
    5. 2nd- $5
    6. 3rd- $4
    7. 4th- $3
    8. 2nd- $5
    9. 3rd- $4
    10. 6th- $0
    11. 3rd- $4
    12. 1st- $6
    13. 4th- $3
    14. 4th- $3

What does this say about my skill level, if anything? I know it isn't much information to go on, I've only recently just started keeping track. Do I need more impressive stats before I move up, able bankroll or no?

Way to go on making $ out of nothing! You sound eager to step up to a higher buy-in, and you probably will be able to beat it, but read up on some Bankroll Management threads and make yourself aware of Variance (check out the stickies in The SNG Forum). All it would take is a string of bad beats at a higher level to put you at $0 if you don't have the BR............and it sucks having to start over (been there, done that)! GL!
