Blind vs. Blind
I am hoping to improve by blind play, since i am fairly certain i can do much better. I play well from the BB HU since i have position and i tend to seat myself to the left of a weak LAGG. But often i find myself out of position against a good player, and i want to stop leaking chips to him.
Hopefully some good discussion on strategies for preflop/flop play when playing from the SB vs. a good player in the BB comes out of this. Let's say this player has stats of 23/19 and an AF of 4.75 over a large sample.
My thoughts so far:
1). Play tighter. This opponent will be able to outplay more often on every street since he is good/has position on you. He also will be 3betting a wide range.
2). 4bet a wide range. I think a "bluff range" of medium pairs (6-6 - 9-9) would be best, since villain's calling range is going to include A-K a high percentage of the time. A-2s - A-5s would be good to 4bet bluff also. Any other hands you would 4bet as a bluff here? What size 4bet do you like?
3). c/r more flops after calling a 3bet. How good would a medium pair do against a 3bet range on a 1 overcard flop with two of the same suit, for example?
