SharkScope question

    Default SharkScope question

I'm pretty new so bear with me. I just found this site sharkscope, and looked myself up. Kinda creepy that I'm in there, I didn't know PS published stats...

Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit Form Network
    Hero 46 $5 $8 106% $243 Super Tilt PokerStars

Super Tilt huh? That means I should probably generally tighten up my play? I'm also probably playing far higher stakes than my skill would dictate? I guess the ROI is alright? ...all luck no doubt

How much information does this site actually have to use to determine these numbers...just tourney results or actual hand by hand analysis?

Another noob question (last one this hour I promise)

When someone says a player is "8/4/.5", what do these numbers represent, and how does one determine these numbers? Is there's some software out there that keeps track of these player stats? Of 8 hands, they saw the flop 4 times = 50% seeing the flop?

As far as I know, Sharkscope datamines meaning PokerStars don't publish the results, they are intercepted (terminology?) by Sharkscope software.

Don't change your game because of results if you believe that luck was the main factor (obv don't be blind to the truth though if skill is the main factor...) Tightening up your game after a poor run of results may (but probably won't) change the variance, but will seriously hurt your ROI and will most likely make your downswing worse.

The stats you see are Pokertracker stats as displayed by PokerAce HUD. Most players have them but I think they only have limited use for SitnGos as they don't differentiate between blind levels - they are much more useful in Ring games. 20/10/2 is 20% of hands where you Voluntarily put money in the pot ie. not including blinds. 10 is % of preflop raise. 2 is aggresion factor, 1 being you bet as much as you check or call. So 100/0/0 is the ultimate calling station, 100/100/infinity is the ultimate maniac etc.

    Thanks for the reply badgers.

Maybe pokerace isn't that useful for me given that I prefer to play the PS 180 SNGs...I'll just pay attention the old fashioned way in order to profile players.

I guess sharkscope must constantly monitor tournaments by having a bot logged in getting emailed tourney stats or something like that? Fascinating. Does anybody actually use it to profile players mid-game? Would it be that useful to know someone's ROI -- I mean ... that doesn't say anything about their playing style. I'm mostly curious as to how it put me on "supertilt"

Never mind, found the answer to my question by reading the FAQ on their site.

    How is Hot/Tilt Form calculated?
Hot is 3 payouts in a row. Super Hot is 6 payouts in a row. Tilt is 4 losses in a row. Super Tilt is 8 losses in a row.
Yeah I've lost a lot of SNGs in a row. Been taking a lot of bad beats lately when I push My + ROI is probably largely due to a 1st in a $4 and 2nd in a $10 SNG

i use sharkscope mid game all the time

while u can never know exactly how losingp layers lose generally they play way too many hands...when blinds are high in the turbos i normally play i try not to bluff shove into the mas much cuz there calling ranges are much wider......also i f i see someone is a shark and blinds are high and he pushes into me i generaly give them less credit for a big hand and loosen up my calling range bc they are pushing any two alot (rightfully so most of the time)
