Help with neteller/e-wallets

Hi,
I have money in $US in poker accounts which I want to cash out in £GBP. I know for this I need an e-wallet. Which is the best one? What rates do they charge? Should I set my e-wallet account for handling $ because that's what I have at the moment, or £ because that's what I ultimately want. Thanks

I dunno what the "best one" is but i think pretty much everyone uses neteller. Someone else can answer that part of the question.

Your e-wallet account should definately be in USD though, at least for now, as thats what you'll be using on almost all poker sites. Its much better to pay a fee once when you withdraw from your wallet to bank, than everytime you move money from the wallet to the site and back again.

i'm not going to be much help, but i would try to find an e-wallet that is as universal as possible within the sites you have money.

yes, they do have fees, and the fees can vary from wallet to wallet...do your research.

and they vary in the amount of time that they take to get officially up and running/working. dont procrastinate if you are planning on taking any monies soon.

i hate to make it sound like you are "on your own," but i dont think a lot of us here are knowledgable in the differences between all the wallets since neteller went down. i think we kinda picked one, and stuck with that...not really even knowing how the one we picked for ourselves works completely.

but, whatever you do, please tell us what you find...good or bad...we could all learn a bit in this area...i think.

What do you mean 'since netller went down'? I thought it was still up? I thought it was only paypal that stop funding gambling/poker sites? Also I deposit using a debit card so that would eliminate fees for transferring to the site

neteller bumped off their US customers since "the ban".

They still accept europeans fine. Im in the UK (as I assume you are) and it still works fine for me.

Surely if you cash it out straight into the bank account for the debit card you used to deposit with, it'll get turned into ££??? Am i missing something here?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......... I'm really not happy. When depositing, £1 is equivalent to $1.97, yet when withdrawing it's suddenly $2.05! That's with poker.co.uk, dunno if it's the same everywhere else. Really not happy about that...

that should only be a factor of "daily exchange rates." the monies follow the market, and change on a day to day basis.

Haha, i think it's actually an official fact now, since i managed to tilt off 4 buy ins in 50 hands this afternoon. Quite a feat at 0.2/0.4!

I always thought that at least on Stars if you deposited via card the exchange rate which applied on depositing was locked until withdrawal. If thats incorrect I'm going to wait for a nice market to make a little profit on the exchange.
