    Default Bankroll Management....Help!!!!

I realise my main problem is playing in games that are suitable for my bankroll, but my main problem is that I don't really know how much I would need.

I play low-limit sit'n'go's. I would like to regularly play in the $4.40 180 man sit'n'go at Pokerstars, I have cashed in them a number of times, and I have managed to get on the final table twice, but I have not been consistent enough with my meagre bankrolls to constantly be able to play them.

So what is the average amount needed, compared to the buy, to play sit'n'gos?

Also, what is the average amount needed for playing in a MTT?

How many times the buy-in should I have to play a MTT, or a Sit'n'Go? And are these the same numbers I should be using to determine whether or not I should move up a limit in tournaments?

I don't play MTTs, but I have heard that 100 BI is recommended, as the variance is huge. As far as Sit and gos go suggestions vary from 20-100 buy ins depending on whether you play recreationally or proffesionally, and how willing you are to move down. I would reccomend at least 30, probably 40, and move down if you hit 30 buyins of the level below.

Yes, and that SNG recommendation (20-100 buys) is for single-table. For 180-man, you have to treat that as a multi. So you're looking at a $400 'roll for a WINNING player.

25-30 buy-ins are fine for Sngs. While 100 buyins is recomended for MTT's, you could probly get by with 50 buyins for the $4 180 mans because variance will be limited due to the small field.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

whatever you decide, dont forget to include the "entry fee" in your math. 4.40 X 100 is $440+.

hey, bode-ist, nice av. i was looking for RBI baseball, too. i wanted my favorite player...George Bell. that guy could hit anything out.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

Take a look at the updated FAQ in the SNG forum, I've included a section on bankroll management in SNGs.

I agree with the others, for MTTs a good roll is 100 buyins.

seriously SHAKE,WTF!!!This is the beginner forum. What do you want? Some player new to the game playing $100NL for 50K hands a month running 5PTBB/100. Can you go back to teaching the limit forum about your special gifts? And while your at it, look up the meaning of sarcasm in the dictionary, for those future responses to your posts and HH's in that same forum, it may help you understand what they are trying to say.

Default What's wrong with starting from the bottom?

SHAKE, I know playing these S'n'G and MTT''s are not going to let me live the high life, but I just don't have the income to play the large games, nor do I have the ability to play the high limits or big tournaments, while I can play well, I tend to make one mistake, and it's all over. Look at my Sharkscope to see I am a fish, but I want to learn. There's nothing wrong with starting at the bottom, it might just help if I make it to the top. Besides I have started my "poker plan" if you will, to learn and improve in the game, to succeed against it.

    you've got potential

(that's supposed to be a compliment. it's what the world salsa champion told me when I danced with her when I had only been dancing 3 months - and probably bored her out of this world)

With the right attitude and an IQ above 90, you'll beat 4.40 SNGs. Just remember that you should either be having fun while you do it, or treating it as a stepping stone towards higher limits. That said, you'd be amazed what you can do playing 6+0.50 SNGs... you can easily achieve $15 an hout by 8 or 10 tabling if you're half decent.
