Default 6-max or Full Ring for Cash

I once played strictly cash, now I'm stuck on SNGs and multis.

So for those of you who play a lot of cash:

If you are playing .25/50, .50/1, 1/2, or 2/4, do you prefer full ring or 6 max?

If you are a winning player, then the number of hands you see at 6-max should enable you to maximise your winnings as you will see more hands.

Mind you, I don't play those limits, so I could be talking out of my arse

How do you see more hands at 6max than full ring? You certainly pay blinds more often but Ive never understood the seeing more hands argument.

You see more hands at 6 max than at full ring because there are less people to act. Look at the hand per hour at six max and then at full ring.

    ORLY?

You get dealt more hands per hour as well as you get to loosen up your starting hand requirements because the blinds come around faster.

In a period of 1 hour at Full Ring you may get dealt 60 hands and play 20% of them for 12 hands.

In a period of 1 hour at 6max you may get dealt 100 hands and play 25% of them for 25 hands.

    More hands per hour.

6max is better for you if you are a better player with good postflop ability. If you are coming from SNG's I'd suggest trying Full Ring first until your postflop game becomes goot.

I concur you see almost twice the number of hands at 6max.

However I suck at 6max because I suck postflop, so it's off to FR for me...I win a lot more there.

when I first started playing 6 max there were a lot more horrible/gambly players, which was good. This seems to have changed a fair bit over the last little while, at least at UB where I have been stuck. There are more tag wannabes than ever, still beatable, but not nearly as easily or quickly.

But at FR there still seem to be a few live ones. So I have started mixing in FR tables as necessary.

Im not sure if this is the case at other sites as well though.
