2 hands with aggressive villain

Default 2 hands with aggressive villain

Villain in both of these hands are the same.
Over 905 hands, villain is 30.6/26.59/4.85

We have played a LOT together the last week or so. He is very aggressive. I have seen him willing to stack off several times with top pair ace, weak kicker. He is definitely raising far more often than calling (both pre and post-flop).
He re-raises very light in late position. I have seen him recently re-raise K10s and Q9s on the button pre-flop, on a few tables.
He is also very capable of firing on two streets with a preflop raise, with A high or worse, but he is not a bad player. His aggression helps him win very big pots, when opponents push with even worse holdings.

    Hand 1:

-I'm sure many ppl will disagree with me opening from this hand UTG, but try to look past this fact for this hand =)
    -I hit flop VERY strong
-After villain's flop raise, its definitely a WA/WB situation, and I likely have no FE
-Is there a point to pushing on any street, given I have no FE, and we are playign reasonably deep? Villain WILL call, whether he is behind or ahead

Hero raises to $4, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB folds.

    Turn: ($63, 2 players)
    SB bets $45, Hero calls.

    River: ($153, 2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    Hand 2:

-Villain's re-raise on the button means little to me (given that I've seen him do the same with Q9 and K10 pretty recently)
-on the flop, I am confident that my 5's could still be ahead
-The turn doesn't change my read that I could be ahead, and gives me more outs
    -how does this river play?
-does this hand play differently, given that UTG is all-in?

Thats what I was thinking as well. Especially as my read said, he definitely was NOT folding any ace.. so I knew I wouldn't be taking him off any better hands, since I had no fold equity.

The only thing I can see in favor of pushing is that if I was behind, I probably had more outs to catch up, than the number of outs he would have if he was behind.

1- pushing the flop or turn is sexy
    2 - I bet 50 as well.

1 - I like how you played it
2 - I have to agree with a blocking bet. Nasty river.

Most people are saying a blocking bet is the best play on this river.

Now so far, I've called down with this marginal hand, simply because I thought I was possibly ahead even.

So a blocking bet here, assumes that villain has had a strong enough hand to call a river bet. Is this play better than checking to an aggressve villain, who might bluff with a worse hand, but fold to a bet?

Or is a blocking bet here more for pot control, than it is for value?
