Very loose passive table

Sometimes I get a feeling that the table is very rough to understand and I play really poorly. For instance, yetstarday I played at a 10-table where everyone played really loose. Average hands per pot on the flop was over 60 %.

Great I thought. Then I play tight and aggressive. My problem was to get as many people in as I wanted. I got QQ in late position. I raised 5 BBs. Everyone folded. On the other hand, one time I raised 4 BBs with AKs. Not a single opponent folded. Also, the flop didn't help me - 289 rainbow. Then people started to bet ... This kind of situation happend to me alot. I got some good cards and played them pre-flop. Everyone folds or no-one fold. When no-one folds, typically junk turns up on the table and some of the junkbusters at the board start to raise.


Maybe the reason I played poorly was that I was too tired.

This has happened to me on a number of occassions.

I would say keep doing what you are doing, because if your AK does hit the flop you are likely going to stack your opponent who decided it was time to get cute with his KJ.

When it doesn't hit, you've only lost your raise. When it does, you're laughing.

- Limp a wide range in late position
- Keep raising the good stuff pre flop, and make your preflop raises at least pot sized - more if they all still call it.
- Don't go crazy contination betting every flop, unless you get it heads up.
- Value bet every street if you hit.
- Don't bother slowplaying unless you have the deck crippled.

Stick with it.... keep doing what you are doing... any given day or session means nothing to your overall profits.

PS Why do you think that often when no one folds the board comes up empty? Becuase often most the players are holding the big cards, that's why they are all in the pot (not neccesairly big hands, but big cards A9o, A5o, K7s, QTo, KJo). Statistically there are not as many big cards left in the deck, and most of your outs are gone. But that's ok... grind out out! Because when you do hit that flop, you'll usually have them dominated and take down a decent size pot!
