Default Phew. That was exhausting. *braggy post*

So I'm just finishing up a pretty amazing session of $25NL on InterPoker.

The session started well and I managed to grab a nice pot with JJ even after an A came on the flop, which is surprising given that the others in the hand are so aggro.

But then it all went horribly wrong. I'd failed to appreciate that the SLAG opposite me had tightened up because of the maniacs (before people were going all in with Q7o and stuff).
So I thought I'd picked of a c-bet with my JJ and ended up lost my stack... stupid!

Made another howler losing 99 v TT and suddenly I'm down two buy-ins and ready to give up for the day.

But I reasoned to myself that this is a great table. It's going to pay off if I stop being such a donk and play some damn poker. Besides, the rate the chips are flying around I'm earning tons of bonus and rakeback just by sitting here.

I tightened it up trying to forget about my the red $50 in PT and just play nitty poker. No moves from position, no bluffs. No marginal calls, just play the good cards when they finally come... stop chasing and wait.

Well, it took ages but the cards came.

My pocket fives were just the thing to take down a huge pot when the flop came up AA5 and some guy bets into me. We go all-in on the flop and my boat holds. That was a $38 profit right there... single biggest pot I've ever taken down at $25NL.

Pocket 44s hit Q4A flop and got it all-in verses AJ. KK got all-in verses an OESD and survived.
I flopped a boat with QJ (JQJ) and despite stupidly slow playing it from oop I still got a reasonable pot.

I still made mistakes. Like when my 44 hit on a 234 board I called a shorty's all-in and he was holding A2.
But mainly I got sucked out on a few times, put a maniac all-in with an OESD against my ladies and got sucked out on... but for the most part the poker was pretty good.

Best hand of the night only netted me a few dollars, but I enjoyed it:

    Cryptologic
    No Limit Holdem Ring game
    Blinds: $0.15/$0.25
    10 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: $26.15
    UTG+1: $16.80
    UTG+2: $16.50
    Hero: $25
    MP2: $24.60
    MP3: $3.75
    CO: $15.65
    Button: $28.65
    SB: $21.80
    BB: $23.60

    Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is MP1 with K A
    2 folds, UTG+2 raises to $0.5, Hero calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, 4 folds.

    Flop: J T A ($1.9, 3 players)
    UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $0.8, MP3 calls, UTG+2 folds.

    Turn: 3 ($3.5, 2 players)
    Hero bets $1, MP3 calls.

    River: Q ($5.5, 2 players)
    Hero bets $3, MP3 calls all-in $1.45.
Uncalled bets: $1.55 returned to Hero.

    Results:
    Final pot: $8.4

Almost didn't get the bet in as I was trying to get a screen-cap but failed :S

Last hand of the session: pocket rockets... one more pot and a nice session.

    4 hours, 447 hands, amount won $27 (12ptbb/100).

My share of the rake should be about $17 so another $5 from that
Plus I cleared $17 of bonus.

And I just am starting to think that perhaps it's not all so bad at $25NL... if I can just stop taking those stupid risks.

And left a table 2-buy-ins up to make it my most profitable session ever. (I had a nice screen cap of $95 about to be 3-buy ins when got sucked out on by a 10% shot).
    Here's the evidence

Felt good to come back from a $50 hole.

Sorry, it's a brag post. And it may seem insignificant to a lot of people, but I really needed that

    Why's this a mistake?
Even if he had A5, I don't think it's a huge mistake to get it AI on that flop.

And GG, sir. It just shows that sticking to a good tight ABC game plan (when the table conditions are right) is +EV.

Oops. Board was 345. He had a made hand

And, actually although I hadn't thought it through it WAS a good call. I was 38% according to PT and so I had the pot odds to call. Although it's right on the limit.

So you're right. I made the right move without realising it

anyway, on a 345 board there are people who will go all in with just an overpair so you can't always put your opponent on a straight.
