    Default cash vs tournament

because i think that's what happening to me

quite possible, but you can also tilt in mtts.

You also probably don't understand how much variance plays a part in mtts either.

If you're starting out in poker, pick one and stick with it.

It is possible, each game requires a different skillset and you need to master each one.
From my personal experience I am better at tournaments then ring game. In ring game I tend to lose patience while in Sng/MTT the blind increase and the decrease in the number of players call for more action

I've picked up MTTs in the last few days.. WSOP inspired me I think.. and it's very challenging because of constantly changing odds/strategies on top of reads etc because of how the blinds keep increasing and you (and everyone else) is FORCED to act or be dwindled out (as opposed to ring).

But my experience is almost exclusively shorthanded ring, so to put it bluntly I suck at MTTs and lose my cool quickly.. bad beats are more unnerving, if I get a big chipstack I lose my cool (chipleader yesterday with 60 people left, first 30 people paid and I still managed to bust out 27th or so, due to some, in hindsight, donkalicious moves).

I hope with more experience I can also become calmer (and better) at MTTs.. it might the reverse for you in ring?

This happens to me usually everytime I am playing a cash game and a tournament simontaneously. Often though it is the other way around, tilt in the MTT's and destroy ring. This is the exact reason I either play tournaments or cash games. I think this is due because I have trouble switching mindsets from deep and shallow stack play.

Yeah, it is a real consideration. I have been mainly playing 6max cash games lately and last night added a full ring table - I kept having to forcibly stop myself raising with like A8 or K6s in LP. Same with tourneys - if you start pushing all-in in ring like you do in an SNG end game you're going broke VERY quickly!
