Poker rules question

    Default Poker rules question

    So I am playing at my local B&M tongiht and the dealer deals me a King of diamonds. Only problem is he deals it face up. The whole table sees it. He then deals out the rest of the cards and deals me a King of clubs. Now I show the whole table the King of diamonds and place it face down infront of myself. The dealer would not let me keep the card. Is this the right ruling? I thought the player could hold onto the card. Any answers?

    I think if the dealer inadvertently exposes a hole card while dealing the card is declared dead... then you are suppose to get the burn card as your second hole card and there is no burn.... that's what I always thought anyway, maybe it varies from casino to casino?

    If the dealer deals everything correctly and you accidentally show a card it is still playable however, at least in a cash game. My friend is a dealer and this is how we play anyway.

    Sucks that you would have had KK though...

    KK is no good anyway.
