    Default online tells

I was just wondering if you guys had any online tells? I feel that one of the biggest tells is the speed of a persons action (not to be confused with a slow bet/call, which could simply mean that the guy was taking a piss). Heres a couple of mine.

    1. Insta-call on flop Qs Ks 10h

I always felt this is a sign of weakness (usually in the form of a draw) The quick call after a check usually means to me an obvious draw, quick call in late position either means draw or weak top pair. The fact that the person is not even thinking about your bet, about folding/reraising, usually means that the person is looking to improve into what they feel is going to be the best hand.

    2. Limp/call preflop , quick check on flop to raiser

-I have found this to often mean stregth on the other persons part. On a flop with high cards I would usually give the person credit for tp pair. However, if the person is mutlitabling I would take this as a sign of weaknes. LOL. Guess it isnt that clearcut, but Ive still have gotten some good reads with the quick check to the raiser (BOOM with the checkraise, youll see)

    3. Limp/call preflop, instalead flop with pot

For a weak player I usually take this to be a frustration bet, the guys probably sick of me raising him and c betting all of the time. I wouldnt reraise bluff here cause i have gotten called many times with ace high. This is a perfect situation to slowplay anything decent, as the fish will probably bet the turn (with his probably marginal hand)
Me? I always tell the truth.

    Even when I lie.

the only one i use at all is the "long pause before making an out of line river bet" tell.

    This is usually a bluff.

Never had that one..just for info
-IYO is this a positional bluff? Do you get the same read whether the raiser ha lead into you or if you had checked to him?

-What do you mean by an out of line bluff...is that the size of the bet or do you mean that it comes out of nowhere (ex. dude check calls till the river then leads with 2/3 the pot)

    Default Re: tells

I think alot of times when I'm multi-tabling, I give off false tells. I act too fast or too slow because I'm trying to get to the other tables, which leads to them raising me with junk.

I love when they try it and I call them down with top pair and win the pot though

Same situation here. When multi-tabling, I get caught up on a particular table and must act fast on another. Sometimes, the play is not "text book" so if someone wants to read into my slow response that I am bluffing, then so be it.

Yes it is typically from position. It often occurs when they check call check call and then bet at least 3/4 the pot on the river when it completed no obvious draws.

If someone makes a bet like this and their river aggression is abnormally high, I am capable of calling with ace high.

Online tells are greatly dependent on the player. You have to sit there an observe their playing style for a while and see how they act. Also, I look for cards they show down and match them to the way they played the hand (as alot of mediocre players play hands the exact same way every time). Oftentimes, after watching a player you can tell if his bets represent weakness or strength and then go from there. It is really difficult to observe tells and betting patterns if you are playing over 3 or 4 tables..

One thing I've noticed is that it's much easier to give off fake-tells. You are only getting the information they -want- you to get. While you are still safe to assume that no one is trying to play you like this, it does happen enough that I would pay special attention to it.

I find that the insta-check in EP (I'm actually hitting check/call any) works well on a flop with a nut hand. Sets up a nice check raise on the turn. (your #2)

It does help a great deal to know if an opponent is a multi-tabler, and how many
tables they're on to get a read on what types of hands they'd likely be in in the first place. Then you have a clearer choice on being in with them at all, or if it's going to be heads up preflop (depending on your position in relation to them)-you can often count on stealing their blinds, as many won't pay much for a less than premium hand.
Of course I have bad days...
Sometimes I'll go a whole day without quads.
