    Default smart KK laydown?

Hi, my first post in here, hope its not boring.

Was new at the table, no read at him. I was trying to put villain on a hand. AQ or donkish flushdraw possible, i think. Was it right to fold, or should I have pushed? Its so hard to lay down kings...

I wanted to double my bet on the turn, but the Ace scared me.

Also, like I remember, he always instant called. This made me think he could be holding a set.

First off, raise more preflop after 2 limpers - $1.25 minimum - I tend to $1.50 here (I want 1 caller and position).

I've done it before too but,
your turn bet serves no purpose other than to build the pot when you aren't sure whether or not you have the best hand.

You think you have to throw something out there and are hoping to get reraised so you can lay down your Kings, but then it doesn't happen. Then you're just confused on the river because we have no idea whether we're dealing with QJ/AQ/KQ/flush etc.

Better to lead for $6 - $6.50 on the turn and then the river is an easy check (call/fold dependent on bet amount/read).

There are times that I would check the turn and block-bet the river as well, though less frequently.

I agree. Raise more preflop. 3x BB + 1 for every limper is standard; raise more if the table doesn't like folding preflop. Also you should never be betting less than 1/2 pot on any street (river is sometimes an exception).
My sig is too much for you to handle.
