Default AA I played very passively

Villian minraised with AA two hands prior. I only have 18 hands with him. I figured a pp, AK, AQ, or KQ were likely. I thought I'd check through for two reasons: keeping the pot small, and giving the hands that don't beat me a chance to bluff. In retrospect, I'm not sure if this was a good idea. A better line might have to bet the flop (fold to c/r obv.), check behind on the turn, and call a river bet if the board didn't get too scary. If I was going to check behind on the flop, raising the turn would have been a good idea eh?

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Raise preflop to $4-5 and bet the flop

OP, you played it fine. RR a bit more pf, but everything else looks good.

Because the tighties at stars tend to fold to a cont. bet and it probably is cheaper if you can let this go (with reads) to a raise. Or?

And what hands do you think fold if you bet this flop, and why do we necessarily want worse hands to fold? Say villian has 88. Obviously he will fold if you bet, but why not check and give him a chance to bluff? Basically the reason for checking is that this is a classic wa/wb scenario where in general checking the flop maximizes EV against worse hands and minimizes losses against better hands.
