    Default Rules question

    I just realized I am confused about a rule. . .

Board is all clubs, K high. I have AK diamonds. If the other guy had a club, does that outkick any no-club hand, or does he need the A clubs to outkick the K?

Actually thinking about this, I think it goes all the way down, so if the club he has is higher than any of the board clubs he wins, but if he had like the 2 of clubs he wouldn't. Is that right?

Just wondering if i gave away a pot that would have split.

If his club is highr than the lowest board club his flush is higher than yours.

Assuming you are talking hold'em, each player at showdown takes the 5 best cards to make their hand. If the board is all clubs, and no one holds a club higher then that of the board, then it's split.

    Hand 1
    board is KcQc9c8c5c
You have AhKh opp has ThTs opp2 has 4c3d
    pot is split

    Hand 2
    board is KcQc9c8c5c
You have AhKh opp has ThTc opp2 has Jc3d
    opp2 wins

That's the easiest way to think about it. Since you don't have a club then you're screwed unless his club is lower than all the clubs on board...
