Hi. My name is Ultimate George. Want to play some poker?

don't know if it would've helped. the guy obviously wanted to see if he could flop a flush no matter what the cost.
  3. #3
Are you serious? You think if I make it $80 he still calls $72 more there to try to hit a flush? I really doubt it.

It was bad luck that he had those two cards....and that he decided to call.....and that the poker gods decided to let him flop a flush.....and yada yada.....but I take all of that out of the equation by *at least* min-raising here.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid play.

(No cool points for quoting the above message b/c I already know somebody is going to do it.)

you could have made $200 instead of losing $200 if you pushed preflop.

but i think i play it the same against alot of people.

Unlucky but yea, I always re pop it PF. I stopped trying to get tricky w/ AA in ring games a long time ago.

AA 3 way is not that bad. Why would you ever want to fold AXd here? Plus, there's no guarentee first guy has KK, and they might both fold which is meh.

You could have folded that flop if you were last to act. Not second. STBY!

George I really don't think there is anything wrong with this hand, but I tend to like a push here preflop. But it really depends on what I think of both villain's in the hand. If I think at least one of them is the kind of player that has no idea whats going on at a pokertable ala RobUazzs, I'd definately be more inclined to push. Not because I want to fold out a suited ace but because I would expect a call from a wider range then say, KK/AA. And the more narrowly I can define boknows69's hand preflop, the more likely I'd be inclined to play some poker post-flop.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
    saw thsi in your blog.
    2 things.
Fundamentally i think your being a little results orientated here. Kk pumped it up to isolate, you called. Not sure if any other hand besides a pp really gets enough value to call knowing he may very stack two ppl if he hits. Calling with a suited ace is just omg-donkalicious IMHO. Therefore your play is not wrong by any means. You have to know reraiser likes his hand a lot therefore a slow play on AA isnt a bad play.
Of course, yes i guess you may very well get it all in preflop AA vs KK which is fine, it just depends if you thought opp could lay down KK? If he could i like the play more and more, if he couldnt then perhaps it wasnt so great a play.
Im still leaning toward this being a horror play by Axs than you.

Okay, looking at it again maybe this isn't so bad...Just a little results oriented. "If I do this, then that doesn't happen." That type of thing.

Anyway, I *knew* that my boknows69 had KK here. He basically flipped over his cards and showed me preflop with his huge raise (I had played probably 100 hands with this guy at the table). I don't want to announce that I have AA and give him a chance to fold...so I figured a smooth call was in order.

Flop comes all diamonds...He pushes KK (without a diamond) and I of course call becuase I know he has KK.

Too bad "I'm with Stupid" to my left and he has A5 diamonds. Just a tough hand...if you've read my blog you would see that I'm on a bit of a downswing, with stuff like this happening all around me.....Add to that some terrible, terrible plays....and you get why I hate this play so much.
