    Default Minimizing Losses

I've been reading the Forum and the Strategy threads a lot and trying to soak up as much as possible, I've been doing very well in my play, but my major leak is learning how to minimizing losses. If anyone can point to a very good thread on the topic of minimizing my losses and learning the best on when to just fold it, and when to call.
    Thanks in advance

The best thing you can do is post a few hands where you are not sure if you should have folded, played to weak, too strong etc. You'll learn much from the discussion.

Are you losing because you are calling to much? Tilting? Do you have any idea?

this is my favourite part of the post

If you cold call more than once in a blue moon without any limpers in front of you, that is probably your leak..

    Here's an example:
The situation is, this guy Menu, had been tilting and making some large raises with garbage, and bluffing the hell out of people. He was tilting yada yada yada. So my hole cards are AQos and decide to call. I hit the top pair, with 2nd highest kicker. He bets the pot, and I figure this kid is trying to bluff his way out and I come to find out he raised 9 dollars with pocket 9's and hit his trips

Whoa whoa whoa, what are you doing playing $200NL on a $500 BR? Thats your first problem. At the lower limits you learn that TPGK isnt a hand you want to go all in with or call an all in with for that matter. Go play $25NL or $50NL for awhile, playing at levels this high is a sure way to go bust, and fast.

And also, the pot is $38 on the flop, villain bet out $20, essentially half the pot. After his bet the pot is $58 and then you raise to $76? Thats a big raise and then he pushes over you, you should be pretty sure that you are behind here.

Nah he was sitting at a 100 NL table a sec ago.

I had seen his sig and was wondering how on a $50 BR he went up to $500+ so soon, figured it was a MTT win or something, this explains it though.

We should have somebody program a bot or something that keeps track of all the FTRers and makes sure they dont play over their bankroll and if they do to heckle them in the chat until they leave

Something I learned from these forums to minimize losses is that sometimes you feel that someone might beat you, but you keep betting anyway.

Once a sage said: "If you feel you may be beat, you probably are!"
