    Default Calling all big dogs

Hi all I have not really been playing poker for long and the other night I entered a big qualifying tourni and to my supprise I won it I now have won a package to the last qualifying round at the weekend for a packet worh over 4000 to the final for the first 10 people in the $140 MTT re buy.
Basically am just looking for any general advise just a quick couple of points like how long the re buys last wat they cost and basically if I don’t have the fund to re buy am I best just playing it tight waiting for an optimal hand an hoping to double through

You're basically at a huge huge disadvantage if you're not using the rebuys in a Rebuy/Addon mtt.

Anyway, to answer your question, people will be looking to gamb00l it up big in the first hour. Since you're looking to survive on your initial buyin, you'll have to pick your spots carefully: watch who is pushing with any two, pick a hand which dominates their likely range, and go from there.

Are you able to take the tourney money (T$) instead of playing the rebuy? Is this on-line? If so, since you don't have the rebuy money to play, I would suggest (from experience) to just take the T$ and play that at other tourneys and build a roll.

If you do play it and it's on-line, rebuys can last over 6 hours if you make it deep. You can play tight and wait for a monster and try to double-up, but normally if the table is loose there will be several people all in at once and your monster hand pre-flop may not hold up and then you're out because you can't rebuy.

The optimal way to play is to have enough money to add-on before the first hand and then add on at the end of the first hour. Also, typically you want to have 7-10 buy-ins in your roll to play these. You can play it tight or like a maniac, but without money to rebuy for the add-ons it makes it difficult to be successful, IMO.
