Table talk during the rebuy period?

Default Table talk during the rebuy period?

This is a question for chardrian, gabe, and anyone else here who regularly plays rebuys. I've started getting into them and I'm having more success than I've had in freezeouts, although my sample size is small. When I'm playing a rebuy, I like to get all-in preflop on coinflips until I've built my stack to at least 8000 chips or so, then I ease up and conserve my chip stack unless I get a solid hand. If other people at the table are also gamb00ling, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get myself a stack eventually, but what do you guys do if everyone at your table just likes to see cheap flops and your all-ins are only getting called by premium hands?

I usually just ignore the chat when I'm playing, but in a 3R last night I tried to use table talk to loosen the other players up and get them to start calling my all-ins. When I saw that a bunch of people were limping, I said "During this hour the big blind is the size of my stack!" The next hand the same people limped and I said "NO LIMPING" and went all-in with Q5o and showed when everyone folded. Is this a good strategy for getting people to start gamb00ling with you or is it worthless?

ALWAYS start out by saying "allin first hand whos with me?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

i act really goofy and try making friends with people on the table. it really depends on the table--they have to let themselves play loose. if there are a few table coaches who will keep telling you how bad you are, the other players will tighten up for fear of being ridiculed i guess.

just try to have fun and show down stupid hands and your table should follow.

I (try to) only use chat now to have fun and loosen the table up a bit. I am very much into trying to get players to take the rods out of their asses.

Chat should not be used to coach or tell people how poorly they played a hand... ever.

Phrases like "me no limpy limpy" etc. are fine - I doubt they have much effect, but they don't hurt either.

Yeah there was a guy who kept telling me that my strategy wasn't working and that I didn't know how to play poker, and I was just handing chips to the other people at the table. Funny thing is he limped into 60% of pots and was easily the worst player at the table, but that's par for the course with table coaches. Of course I didn't tell him what I thought of his play, I just said something stupid like "I bet I'll get lucky next time!" I'll take everyone's advice and try to act more goofy next time I play a rebuy.

what's wrong with cheap flops? I'm comfy either way. stack them with le 46. Plus you have to love checking the stats and seeing yourself at 65% flops seen.

"During this hour the big blind is the size of my stack!"
post of the... month, at least. I would happily donk off a buy for amusement value.

EDIT - also, on the no push table, take the cheapees early, then start the constant pushing when you hit 50/100. I always think those guys are the toughest to deal with.

This is where having a few Pokerstars wins and thepokerdb.com come in handy I had a guy on my table once that was bitching the whole table out saying we were all idiots. Well the other 8 of us all had 10k+ pokerdbs and 6 of them were top 100 on the annual leaderboard. The guy had a grand total of $38 in winnings...that was a fun table lol.

This guy is always at my table. He's also the one that says "someone please move me fast". I usually tell them to try it they might like it. Before the hour is over, they are in there pushing their hands and it's funny when people suckout on them, because they get pissed.

I either ignore them and continue to do my business or say something silly back at them. As others said, just have fun because it's one of the only times that you can act like a maniac and accumulate a lot of chips.
