Default Full games or short handed?

I was wondering, the Limit games I play at Stars (usually .20/.50) usually share the same size of a pot regardless of the number of people. I have noticed that in 7-9 handed games the pots usually average to be around $3, and that is the same for 2-6 people as well most of the time. Obviously in a short handed game the odds of winning are a little better and you can play somewhat more mediocre cards, so would it be better to just go for those 2-5 handed games and win the same pot that I may win in a 9 handed game? The reason I ask is basically because of the blinds, you will also be spending a little more paying more often in blinds in a 3 or so hand game, whereas 9 ppl would be different. I'd appreciate any feedback and insight. Thanks.

I don't know how expierienced you are as a poker player, but I think it's definetly harder to be successful in shorthanded games. you're playing more hands, and have to make more difficult decisions in more tight spots. I would say play full ring until you have more expierience, and read some stuff about shorthanded play (hypermegachi's short-handed guide is really good) and then maybe give it a shot.
