How would you play this hand for max. value and was I right to fold on the river? (well obviously not but was it the correct play?)

Would a bigger raise on the flop been right?

    Thanks in Advance.[/quote]

    25/50's f'in hard!
You might want to post this and the other hand of yours in the shorthanded forum.. this is for full ring games..

You have the bottom end of this straight, I would be very aggressive, this type of straight dont last long lol, espically with a flush draw present as well. Reraise a lot on the flop, dont just raise like a pansy, show 'em you got the goods and they are going to have to pay to see another card.

Also call the river.. its just 7x the BB to see a showdown, thats just to cheap to pass up with the board showing a straight.

Goal: $125000 for $25/50 NL live

Call the river. $27 dollar pot and he's asking for $7.50 more. Most times you lose, but you only have to be correct about not being beat 20% of the time with the odds you're getting.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

    20%? I don't think so... Incoming math!

$27 pot, putting $7.50 more into it, but you're only getting back $9 of the pot if you're right (everyone's playing the board). So putting in $7.50 in the hopes of getting $9 needs to work 7.5/16.5 = ~45% of the time.
Up my bankroll - buy Saints Row.

True. And on that board it's not unlikely that someone holds a queen.
