I refer you to the strategy essays on http://www.flopturnriver.com/ (yes, this very site). I find they explain pre-flop play very well.

That's pretty much the best answer you'll get, apart from the guide that CrunchyNuts suggested. (Start with http://www.flopturnriver.com/essays_...ps_0_to_2.html and work your way through the groups, for a start) It also depends on the action before you, stack sizes etc etc.

EDIT: Depending on your level, you might want to read http://www.flopturnriver.com/New-Player-Guide.html before anything else. But then again, just as a start. Make sure to read as much articles on the site that you can, and be sure to look though this forum. I'm a beginner but have managed to get by pretty well thanks to the site and this forum.

If you are a beginner, I say stick to the FTR starting hand charts profusely (sp? :P).

Once you get a bit more advanced you can start incorporating more hands into your arsenal and base plays entirely on reads etc.

But while you are starting out, just try to play the cards, then you can build on that from there.

    thanks.

is there any site or books taught NL starting hands as well aparting from those found on this site . how about Super System 2 ? do they taught starting hands ?

    Also

"Once you get a bit more advanced you can start incorporating more hands into your arsenal and base plays entirely on reads etc. "

How "looser" should be when we become more advanced ? how many % of hands to play ? loose from 20-25% to how many %?

i play any two connecting and 1 gap suited cards in position as long as the raise isnt too devistating.

Man, I've never even seen the main FTR page until now.

Now I got some fun reading to do.
