Default Is aggression best at micro HU SNG?

I've been playing the $5 and $6 SNG's, and most players fall into this medium TAGG category, where they're not hyper aggressive, but they're really predictable. However, they read hands just well enough that you have to pick your spots carefully to bluff them off a hand post flop.

An experiment I've started with very passive preflop/flop play is working well, allowing more bluffs and generally keeping the regs off balance. I can change it up by going hyper TAGG for a few hands.

In my limited experience, playing passively extends the game and allows the better player a better chance to win with solid postflop play.

I'm wondering if the HU folks here play passively very often? Do you switch it up preflop between 2 or more styles? Do you play more passively against aggressive players?

keeping them off balance is best, most faint at 3-bets pre and post flop.

    yet passive is good early

most don't have a clue about their EV.

I think instead of having a style yourself you should try to adapt to your villain. If they call a lot keep pots small with weak hands and build them up with monsters. If they are aggro widen your range etc...

There are plenty of times I am passive (usually card dead) and it has paid off but as to a sound strategy I cant really offer anything.

In HU it's WAY more about exploiting a specific opponent than it is about playing any 1 style. If playing passively exploits the villain's weaknesses then play passive in good situations. You can't really go wrong with being aggressive though, as long as you don't over do it. In general I play pretty LAGG on the button and I'm a nit from the BB. Seems to work for me.

You play one on one so I think it's better to adjust your style to the villain. I also suggest 3betting and 4betting PF then cbetting flop with decent hands.
