In HU as the stacks get deeper, preflop play gets less important. 250bb deep you can't really make a huge mistake preflop. Just keep your opponent off balance and let him make mistakes postflop.

In HU it's WAY more about exploiting a specific opponent than it is about playing any 1 style. If playing passively exploits the villain's weaknesses then play passive in good situations. You can't...
It's just variance. Keep doing what you're doing, keep moving up, keep learning, and most importantly, keep making $$$.
So I am playing limit to clear bonus/rakeback on Absolute. I suck. I've read the digest and I think I've retained at least some of it, but I still feel I'm missing a bunch of concepts and I have no...
Why be a jerk to players at the table? I'd rather be a fun nice guy that people enjoy losing money to than the unbearable dick that kills the action
Just my $.02...
I shove preflop instead of re-raising. Reason being villain will be committed if he caught any piece of that, so therefore you have more fold equity preflop. As played, shove flop.
It's 10nl so pretty much anything they raise they're calling a 3-bet with. ATs+, AJo+ and all PPs, I've even seen some call with SCs on occasion. Yes, its that crazy.
No reads in any of the hands....yay for 4-tabling and watching bootleg movies!

Yeah. Since that last post I'm up another BI so my BR is at $150...
My plan is that if it should drop below $100 then its back to grinding the sngs for me.
Thanks for your encouragement. I hope...
So earlier my friend called me up and asked me to toss him $5 on FTP. i'll start off by saying he is a casual player so he doesn't care about BR management, etc. I agreed and he put $3 on a 10NL...
This is kind of an interesting situation. If you are playing to build a BR, I would say take the money. If you are in poker just to screw around and have a bit of fun, by all means play for that...
It is kind of an interesting idea though...I might try it sometime in the distant future when it wouldnt affect my BR to do so.
On an unrelated note, I was 4-tabling those earlier, cashed in 4 out...
What are you asking? That is good preflop, nothing fancy. Got lucky on the flop. I like the small bet on the flop. Those kind of bets look weak and can induce a raise more often than not. ElipsesJeff...
I don't like this at all. You have to really play to win these things to make any large profit. I don't want to click "sit out" on my way to $.40 an hour.
Yeah, I would say because of the swings, you would need probably 50+ buyins to keep variance at bay. These could potentially be incredibly profitable though, so once my BR hits like $2oo I might try...
Hmm, perhaps I just missed it. I'll go check again to make sure. Thanks for the info once again.
I couldn't find the information anywhere for SNG BR management. I found stuff for MTTs and cash, but nothing for SNGs. How many buyins should I have stored for standard STTs, turbo STTs, 90 person...
I've seen these as well. Due to the starting chips and blind structure the only reasonable strategy is push/fold preflop. Anything else is leaking chips IMO.
I would say if you have a solid...
Alright, thanks. Thats what I thought, but the context it was used in was kind of confusing. I now realize it was a hypothetical situation. I'm retarded lol
That sounds alright to me, but it could lead to some tough decisions later in the hand. What if I c/c turn and then the river is a blank, I check and Villain leads? Would I have to lay down the...
Sorry for being naive, but can someone explain to me the concept of "floating"....I'm not exactly sure what that means...
Is this best course of action to take, by inducing a possible cbet?

Do you really think Jx would limp/call PF here? It was a few hands into the tourney and this was the first hand both he and I played. This shows me he is either capable of folding preflop unlike most...
I have been away from poker for quite some time, and so now I'm going to try to grind up a BR playing SNGs. Here are a couple hands from tonight that I had a few questions on.
1. Obvious set?
