Im bored. Wrote my final exam in business law this morning and should now be studying monopoly regulation theory for tomorrow morning, but meh.
Back to the "scare cards"-thingy.I got his from watching a training vid, but I feel like I should put it in words on my own to fully understand the concept.
What it comes down to is that a scare usually polarizes our opponents betting ranges, ie he´s more likely to continue with his bluffs and less likely to valuebet the thinner part of his range. Im struggling to filter a good example from HM, but imagine we call a decent aggressive players BTN open in the BB with A7s
He may open like
{22+,A2s+,K2s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T8s+,97s+,86s+,75s+,64s+, 54s,43s,32s,
A5o+,KTo+,QTo+,J9o+,T8o+,98o,87o,76o,65o,54o,43o}
Flop 7d Jc 5c
A tight cbetting range
{88+,7c7h,7c7s,7h7s,66,5c5h,5c5s,5h5s,AQs+,AdJd,Ah Jh,AsJs,ATs-A8s,Ac7c,Ah7h,As7s,A6s,Ac5c,Ah5h,As5s,A4s-A2s,KQs,KdJd,KhJh,KsJs,QdJd,QhJh,QsJs,JdTd,JhTh,Js Ts,T9s,98s,8c7c,
8h7h,8s7s,7c6c,7h6h,7s6s,6c5c,6h5h,6s5s,5c4c,5h4h, 5s4s,ATo+,KcJd,
KcJh,KcJs,KdJh,KdJs,KhJd,KhJs,KsJd,KsJh,QcJh,QcJs, QdJc,QdJh,QdJs,
QhJc,QhJs,QsJc,QsJh,JcTd,JcTh,JcTs,JhTc,JhTd,JhTs, JsTc,JsTd,JsTh,
T9o,98o,87o,76o,65o,54o,43o}
basically any pair and 4 outs+ draws and we have 54% equity.
Turn brings the Kh and since our villian has been told at DC/CR/2p2/FTR that this is a good card to double barrel, so he goes ahead and fires all of his bluffs and semi bluffs along with his nut range. Interesting thing is, that most villians are not thinly value betting their in between pairs like a J or TT. So although an overcard to our pair rolled off our equity has gone up to 64% vs {JJ+,7c7h,7c7s,7h7s,66,5c5h,5c5s,5h5s,AQs+,ATs-A8s,A6s,A4s-A2s,KQs,KdJd,KhJh,KsJs,QdJd,QhJh,QsJs,T9s,98s,8c7c ,8h7h,8s7s,7c6c,
7h6h,7s6s,6c5c,6h5h,6s5s,5c4c,5h4h,5s4s,ATo+,KcJd, KcJh,KcJs,KdJh,
KdJs,KhJd,KhJs,KsJd,KsJh,T9o,98o,87o,76o,65o,54o,4 3o}
Could be my ranges are a bit off, cuz Im not very focused. Comments and duscussion appreciated.
