As I said, I had a bit of a history with that player, and based on his previous actions I was really uncertain what were his holdings, but it seemed in my mind they were either very strong or that he was maybe drawing (both flush or straight). Therefore I decided there was more value in letting him barrel river with possibly missed draws. (I've never seen how he plays draws before, and whenever he didn't fold so far he always had something good).
Regarding your other statement. I just recently saw some other guys graph (but from FT superturbos), and although it was sick (roi 6% over 10k tourneys) he had a few crazy 10-20BI downswings. And he is goooood.
