given the flop texture leaves us either way ahead or way behind i cant see the flop check being a huge mistake, if it is one at all. i think our best line depends on whether or not villain is liable to start trying to bluff us at any point in the hand. if he is, i say we take the line that is most likely to cause him to bluff. if he's not, i think checking back this flop as a default is fine because we're possibly just value-owning ourselves against a better hand being played deceptively when we bet, and we aren't really afraid of many turn cards at all, so i don't think the controversial "protecting our equity" logic applies here very much at all. though if we can do something to make villain try to bluff us with any frequency yeah do that and just call down vs whatever we think his bluff line is.
