Default Is folding an option here?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (5 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (SB) ($2.52)
    BB ($2.99)
    UTG ($0.67)
    MP ($0.90)
    Button ($2.10)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5, 5
1 fold, MP calls $0.02, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.01, BB checks

    Flop: ($0.06) J, 8, 8 (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP bets $0.06, Hero raises to $0.18, BB calls $0.18, 1 fold

    Turn: ($0.48) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.33, BB raises to $0.74, Hero raises to $2.32 (All-In), BB calls $1.58

    River: ($5.12) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Total pot: $5.12 | Rake: $0.18

On turn 9 combos beat us we beat a lot more than that all 8x combos that arent houses on the turn. No reads on villain..

Ofcourse, it's always an option until you're all-in. I would never fold here.

edit: Also fold flop easy. Your hand has no equity what so ever v any range.

    I'd be folding flop.

Turn is brutal. No way can I fold this at 2nl, but bb c/c a bet and raise, he's hit this flop. If this were 10nl and I had no reason to believe the bb is an idiot, I'd b/f turn as played. But this is 2nl against an unknown, and we have to assume villain is stacking all 8x combos

wat you fold this at 10NL? villain has a naked 8 way more than he's got a higher boat here regardless of his competency, and if he was competent, he'd just lead flop with everything 8 & better.

Also just call turn & stack river.

I would consider folding at 10nl. I would not seriously consider folding at 2nl. I wouldn't be stacking a naked 8 on the turn, so if this guy raises my turn bet after cold calling a flop raise, I'm not putting him on a naked 8 unless there's a good chance he's an idiot. And I use the term idiot relatively, ie more of an idiot than myself. Most people at 2nl are more idiotic than I am, so I wouldn't fold against an unknown, but at 10nl, I'm Mr Average, and I'm not stacking a naked 8 on the turn like a moron, so why would I expect a random unknown to? At 2nl we're unlucky when we lose this spot, but I think that at as low stakes as 10nl, yeah this should at least be seriously considered as a fold.

I think it's quite +EV to stack Q8, K8, A8 if I were BB, but raising the turn is pretty lol.

Well it's a good way to get someone to fold everything worse than an 8, so it really limits your value range. I'm talking about villain's raise.

Your jam is pretty meh also, but at least you're v-betting all the 8s (we don't block them by having one ourselves), and villain seems pretty in love with his hand so it can't be too bad, but if he's in love with his hand he'll probably stack river anyway, so calling keeps his range wider...but the way the flop went down there's no way he has air, so I guess we should jam the turn to get value from 98 and a J in case he's retarded enough to have those and he gets an undesirable river.

If you don't want to get all the monies into the pot, then don't lead the turn into a pretty scary flop range.
