It's not my experience that the players in these low BI tours raise their BB in a try to protect it that often. It really takes a good hand for most to do so. But you are right ofcourse

FLOP: I bet, as I know that if he hasn't hit anything on that flop, and doesn't have a heart, he'll fold.
TURN: I continue to bet to make him believe I have something. I could have checked as you say, but he could then start betting and move me out of the pot, in a believe that I'm not that strong because of my check.
RIVER: I simply hope he has a heart, and believes I'm bluffing
That was my way to look at the hand, but you probably know better. But that's the beauty of poker...hands can be played in so many ways, mostly wrong ways
