    Bankitdrew has been lynched!

    BREAKING NEWS!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!

The WNA met today to discuss the worsening global security situation, and have forwarded a motion declaring war on bankitdrew.

Holy fire has rained on Uzbekistan, and a giant mushroom cloud hangs over the capital city Tashkent. Casualties are uncountable.

WNA forces captured President Bankitdrew, and to their horror discovered that Uzbekistan was an Allied nation and in control of the spies they hoped would expose the Axis. Bankitdrew laughed at the WNA as he was beaten to death by a renegade solider, who was later discplined and given 4 days hard labour at a military prison for his crime.

    bankitdrew has been killed

bankitdrew was Uzbekistan and was aligned to the Allies. His role was Spy.

(send spy to target nation in attempt to discover alignment)

It is now night. You may submit your actions to me by pm.

Night deadline is a little over 29 hours, you have until 7pm ET tomorrow, or mignight UK.

Thread will remain open, talking is allowed. Any bolded votes will be ignored.

GG guys. Was a blast. Can't wait to get into the fetal position now...

Certainly looking like this is the way of the future for me now in upcoming WW games. If this stays true, not much sense in me playing. I don't blame ya.

I take it that talking at night is ok, and seriously?? We need to figure out how the hell we just snap lynched someone. That is horrible. Going into night with less info than we could have had for a later game.

I'm concerned that savy and mmm chose to talk about bid as a liability instead of as a wolf given his massive wolf slip. It gives me the impression they knew he would flip villager, or at least not axis.

Or used the power of reasoning to come up with the most likely explanation to the situation.

That's not true at all though, Daven confirmed that he'd been a good wolf up till that point and about that point BID says in this thread.

I played my role well... until I didn't something that was not clarified anywhere in the rules.
First game that I played JKDS attempted to put pressure on people who were new to the game early on and flipped wolf so I dunno if that's something he always does or something he does as a wolf.

I thought you said you read that thread?

Daven's description of that game includes blaming me for not stopping Bigred from not reading anything I said. I get the feeling he's trolling me because I don't understand why he believes something so irrational.

Only read on Wuf is the always read on Wuf: He's bad for all teams. His posts are deceptive and he leaves a trail of villagers in his wake.
Didn't you say you were reading the games?

It's funny that everybody thinks I would be an excellent wolf but I think I would be a terrible one, and everybody says I'm a shitty villager but I think otherwise.

I have virtually no input at this point. I think the BID lynch was super strong. LOLd @ his reg villager claim.

Anyways I have no input because everybody has a special role and I can't make any sense of how hunting should work. At this point I see a crapshoot.

I was buying his 'villager with back against the wall' tone. I think he looked wolfy as hell with his 'regular' villager claim. As has been pointed out, though, he could have claimed his role and gotten the village off his wagon at least long enough to allow a counter-claim (if he WAS a wolf, that is).
Nothing was adding up as far as him being solidly wolfy or solidly villagery... I don't know.

The fact that the wagon developed so quickly seems really dumb. This group is seasoned and jumping on BID, who is considered an open-faced player, so early in day 1 reeks of opportunism by baddies...

So yeah... I was not convinced that the "easy" answer was the only viable answer.

I thought I had covered everyone who had posted ITT so far, but JKDS is the only ommission. So that looks pretty fishy. *sigh*

I fully expect to make mistakes, and JKDS has proven himself to be perfectly mysterious to me as far as reads go. As such he goes in my wildcard list.

Still no posts from boost, aubrey, or kingnat... so I want to see what's going on with them before I put them in a category.

I wouldn't read much into this. BID is marginally open-faced, but it's also in a really wacky way that gets him doing super wolfy things as a villager or super villagery things as a wolf. ITT, we saw him do a super wolfy thing as a villager.

A chunk of players remember some of his history, including the previous game, and it makes total sense that he would be a fast wagon in this game. IIRC, the same thing happened last time he saw an endgame and his team lost. In the very next game, he was fast-lynched

Specials have little over 24 hours. Specials will receive replies when the night ends to avoid night actions being discussed. Specials have up until deadline to change their mind if they so wish. The last action before deadline is binding.

In all past games played, and that's a lot, an omission of a player name has never indicated a wolf covering for a wolf. It makes sense too, wolves will be extra careful to add their own in their lists. The only conclusion to draw here is that if MMM happens to be a wolf, JKDS is not one on his team. And these omissions are generally town tells. It could be a wolf being sloppy, or possibly a wolf going next level and adding in an omission to be appear sloppy (towny) but that's a bit unlikely.

But with everyone having a role and there probably being another wolf team or singular agents apart from the Axis, it's hard to gauge what anything means atm. Daven's behavior is a tad peculiar but that could mean, anything, nothing? Hard to say.
  27. #102
Surely it's just a case of MMM mistaking TLR & JKDS because TLR is on the list twice. It doesn't make any sense for TLR to be on both the happy to lynch and wildcard list when no one else is.

Would lead me to think that if MMM or TLR is a wolf then the other one is slightly more likely to be just for the fact that the only way I can see mixing them two up being possible would be if the name was on his mind for some reason.

my 2 cents on special powers and the possibility of 3rd team being there

I dont think that there is a 3rd team that is equal in size to the axis, just becuase it will give them a big edge over the known team, I assume there is probably one or two indivuals with specific winning conditions, but usually those are very hard to meet (I dont think someone have a winning condition like if player X and Y die you win)

So I think that we should focus our attention on finding the axis just like any other game, the hints will be there as they always are.

Regarding special roles, this throws a lot of cahos into the game, especially in two areas
    1. Number of deaths at night is not predeictable
    2. Information is spread around without understanding of who may posses what information

the 1st one will be more of an issue as the game progresses, and the 2nd item is just something we have to live with

That second paragraph is classic wolf JV. Say something and nothing both at once.

However I agree with the first paragraph re wolves generally making a point of mentioning each other.

I think we need to at least discuss the use of retreat, as I see it there are two alternatives to use it

    1. Individual use - any ally will use it when it feels in danger
    2. Collective use - all allies agree that it will be used in the same night, this will effectively deny a night kill from the axis, which can be great at end game

You're either a wolf or a special and for once I can say it out loud. Actually I'm not too concerned about the lack of vanilla villagers yet.

Some more 'fluff' intro posts for you, mmm - although it's such a well known trope that I'd expect the more experienced players to consciously avoid doing this.
  36. #111
Annoying but kind of inevitable given BID's history.

2 isn't a great idea, but based on all the games I've played with TLR before these kind of posts indicate he's a villager, i.e. potentially pro village suggestions based on game mechanics.
  37. #112
BID lynch was a win-win, a totally chaoitic player who does not have the goal of having the village win (intentioally or not) is often worse to have then another wolf, it happened a bit too fast, so we lost some day one information

I keep reading this, but in a game where all players have roles, one seer may not be possible. There are only so many roles, we can have twists, but more seer's are possible.

Good catch Luco. I never saw that retreating was a permanent loss of our powers. I was wondering about being able to retreat every night and maybe surviving. I still ain't sure how this game is going to be played, it has a lot of tiwsts in that playuers are identified by country in Ongs messages but we kill the player and have no list of countries in the game. Glad you pointed that out.

Ofcourse you will lose your powers, but at end game it will matter little, supposed at end game there are 4 villagers and 2 wolves and nobody retreated yet, at this point it will be often much better to completly block a night kill and lose the powers you have then to not use a night kill and lose the game if you happen to lynch a villager

Unless specific roles are known in public it is usally pretty hard to predict who will be nommed by the wolves, and often players are paranoid, so what will very likely happen is that people retreat without being targeted, or even if they retreat and are targeted it will often happen in situations/times when it will be help but not great help, so I think there is a lot of value in having all villagers at end game still having this power and collectivly using it to gain an extra day. There are obvious downsides to it (wolves will know when it happens, so they do not have to worry about retreats in all other nights for example)
I still think it is an option that is at least worth considering

This is my first ever game where night talking is allowed, although looking back it used to be quite common here at ftr. Why did it stahp? I guess it's harder for the wolves because they don't have dedicated strategy time if the game is always open

Fair points. I thought it was worth noting that TLR appeared twice on the list, JKDS not at all.

also, i had read bigred's greenland post as some sort of message cos i hadn't read the op through properly - hence my post quoting it and referencing denmark...

JKDS is a wolf, here's why

he has played a bunch on mafia-scum so is probably the only one who understands how role-madness games work.

As a villager he would have pointed out that drew is as likely (if not more) a village special and slowed down the lynch rather than jumping on it with a no-content wagon pile on post. Of course the wolves don't care too much which villager gets killed as we're all specials so they don't need to special hunt.

just realised that we didn't really even lose a seer. BID was going to retreat anyway, so he wouldn't have had a chance for a lookup and he would have lost his special-ness upon retreat..

I understand your premise but do not understand your conclusion. How would he have picked up on BID being a special and tried to derail the wagon? I bolded the part that seems to be a quick leap.

i think he would have been quick to realise that a rapidly forming and growing wagon was more likely villager than wolf and, unlike me, immediately realised that of course the wolves would love this cos lol lock-lynch a special early on day 1. Just the fact that his post was simply

without any comment on why an immediate lynch might be a bad thing seems telling to me. I mean, i feel stupid for lynching drew so quickly but at least i can understand why i did it.

lol i thought exactly the same thing when i read it through before posting

i think it's because i'm stating a suspicion as a set of absolute facts, as per wuf who has apparently never been wrong or lucky in a game of werewolf

And if I die, please take care of my kittens. They need to be captioned 3 times a day and live off cheeseburgers.

Also, lynch gator. He'll miss me too much to want to play anymore.
