I will be moderating a unique FTR Werewolf Match during the month of August in which all participants (who prove to be active within the game thread) will be invited to a $100 Freeroll on Carbon Poker. New players are welcome and this will be a great opportunity to compete alongside some of our veteran Villagers & Wolves in a friendly environment with the added incentive of a freeroll tournament.
Carbon Poker is part of the Merge Gaming Network and is available internationally as well as in the United States. If you have not yet signed up for an account with Carbon, you can receive a 200% up to $5,000 Initial Deposit Bonus when registering upon entering the Coupon Code CARBONPK

Q: I'm new to the game. What is gameplay like?
A: Read this How to play Werewolf page (external link). You should also consult our most recent Werewolf: To The Edge in-game thread, which was moderated by a500lbgorilla.
Q: Are there any restrictions on who can join?
A: There are two: (1) You must be willing to participate actively throughout the match, and (2) You must have a registered FlopTurnRiver account with a sign-up date no later than August 6, 2014, 11:59pm Eastern Time.
Q: When will the freeroll be held? How does it work?
A: The freeroll will be held after the game ends. Passwords will be sent out privately to all participants (regardless of which team wins). Hypothetically, if there are 20 players who actively participate in the FTR Werewolf Match, the $100 freeroll would represent a $5 break-even Expected Value for each player.
Q: I may not be able to actively participate in the thread. Can I still play?
A: WARNING! Do not sign up if you have any scheduling conflicts or doubts about being able to drive the game with post activity! One of the main purposes of holding this unique match is to give newer members an opportunity to gain exposure to these types of contests while not having to be entirely familiar with with some of the more advanced tactics/unwritten guidelines used in the veteran-filled regular games. A single inactive member can completely spoil a good game depending on roles, so being inactive will be highly frowned upon and will result in freeroll password denial for non-contributors.
Q: Which roles will be employed in this FTR Freeroll version of Werewolf?
A: Roles [TBA] will likely be similar to the To The Edge match moderated by a500lbgorilla with alternating ODD/EVEN nighttime capabilities for "Specials."
Q: I am wufwugy. I am the best Werewolf player on FTR. Will you allow me to play and pwn these noobs' souls?
A: Absolutely. Any veteran member is encouraged to play. This thread is a way to notify you in advance that this will be a "n00b-friendly" match--and a courteous heads-up in case you won't enjoy such a contest.
Q: I just saw this thread and see that the match has already begun. Can I jump in?
A: Unfortunately, no... unless a substitution is required later on in the game. However, we may run similar matches in the future.
Q: You'll suck as a moderator, Huber. You've only played Werewolf once online and we lynched your n00b-ass on Day 2. Why don't you ask around and see if someone more qualified is willing to run the show?
A: Good idea. I am nominating myself because I will maintain an open line of communication with newer participants, provide detailed explanations of roles, vet low post-count members beforehand, and politely answer general questions. If you or someone you know would like to take over the moderation duties for this match under those conditions, then by all means...
Q: I am a veteran FTR Villager/Werewolf. Will you listen to my suggestions on how to make this match as entertaining/balanced as possible?
A: Yes, of course. Please reply in this thread.
Q: Hey Huber, how do I obtain the passwords to FTR's exclusive Freeroll and Money Added events?
A: See our Qualified Member Status thread authored by jyms. Our approval policy is based more on long-term contributions rather than generic monthly post count tallies. The reasoning behind our philosophy is clearly outlined in that post by Jim and I agree wholeheartedly with his sentiment. The Qualified Member stipulation will not apply to this single freeroll opportunity.
Q: When will this game begin?
A: The start date (tentative) is Thursday, August 14th.
Q: I've read over the FAQs, will be active throughout the duration of this 2-to-6 week match and want to sign up. How do I join?
A: Reply in this thread letting us know that you're IN.
