Is there any way I should have seen that coming? at first I was a little worried about As, so I did a value bet, and continued that on the turn to try to push anyone off it, but...well you can see the results.

    thoughts?

oh also, hello im new blah blah.

I'm new around here as well, so don't rely too much on my input.

The way I see it, there's no way you could have seen a straight flush coming. As played, I probably would have bet the flop bigger, maybe pot-sized to push out any draws. After MP raises, I'd probably shove all in; your push on the turn was giving correct pot odds for someone to continue drawing to a higher flush.

    1. Hi and welcome to FTR!

    2. When posting hands, don't post results. Knowing the results makes it harder to objectively think about the hand and the decisions.

    3. Fold pre. Hand as weak as QJs can't be profitably played from early position in that situation. I'd open something like {99+, AQ+}. I might add 88 and AJs when in spewy mood.

    4. Bet more (close to 400) on flop. There are two opponents, one of whom could easily be drawing to higher flush or straight flush. Remember that since players at this level like to chase, it's very hard to make you value bets too big.

    5. I'd just move all-in over his min-raise. Sure, you could be beat, but he has a draw much more often. He will sometimes also have an overpair or set he can't let go of.

    6. As played, turn is fine.

I agree with everything that Fielmann said, especially point #1.
