late in $5 sng...pretty crippled. I felt a push was necessary, but my friend thinks otherwise. I didnt want to sit around for a better hand, because I would be even more crippled...
push, fold, or check?

I like pushing. At a $5.50 you will either get all folds or get called by lots of crap that you beat. You will not be any better than a 60/40 favourite here though. |

i push..don't have sngpt at work to check out the ev, but you're dying a quick death and are shortstack - at that point the ace will just have to do even though it comes with a three. what happens if you don't? you go into prayer mode i guess.

Pushing depending on the table read (still have over 5xBB, but just barely, so we can still be selective for another orbit). If they're loose and I'm likely to get two calls here I'd fold. You made the right move here though. Some dead money in the pot, only one caller, and you were slightly better than a coinflip.

The problem with not pushing this is that the alternative is to shove the next hand (assuming you're folded to in the SB) into the BB with no FE and a random hand. |

surprisingly, i would figure that a call has you beat or willing to call u where a tbest ur 60-40...., id wait and just shove button or cutoff regardless
